To the Sea

And I walked out to the sea,
Felt the wind upon my face,
It stung my skin so bitterly,
Yelled out furiously in distaste,

And I walked out to the sea,
Felt the water spray my face,
It's icy fingers slapped at me,
Made me quicken up my pace.

And as I stepped out on the cliff,
The wind was holding me at bay,
Begging me, almost as if,
Asking me to stay away.

And as I stepped out on the cliff,
The waters warned me not to leap,
Screamed at me, almost as if,
They knew I'd jump to the frothy deep.

To this I raised my hand up high,
And warned them both to stay away,
Today was not my day to die,
No, I'll not die upon this day...

Like The Phoenix

Like a phoenix I rise from the ashes of death,
All at once, taking my first and last breath.
No longer bound by flesh to this earth,
This is my new cycle of life, my rebirth.

And the dawn... it promises a new day to begin,
As I walk from the flames, travel amongst men,
To seek out the one who holds onto the key,
The one who can grant my freedom to me.

My years are short although extended,
Never has my life truly ended,
But with each new cycle, I do die,
In the sacred fires, upon Mount High.

There's only one who could save me from,
The death that is surely yet to come,
The mortals won't hesitate to sacrifice me,
To free them of their sins permanently.

A new life, yes, that is always given,
But its never one that is ever worth living,
For the sins of this world, they suffocate me,
But I'm forced to endure them for eternity.

Thanks,

Both well done, but the Phoenix one is tremendous.

I loved her, like the sea loves her children.
When, in the flash of an instant,
She unleashes the power of a hundred winds
And the wisdom of a thousand sea miles.
All so her child can dance across her fluid face.

I heard an ancient tale about the norns of asgard, threading the threads of time. Only a noble woman of birth can either claim that throne or be de-throned from it.

The Norns (Old Norse: norn, plural: nornir) in Norse mythology[1] are female beings who rule the destiny of gods and men. They roughly correspond to other controllers of humans' destiny, the Fates, elsewhere in European mythology.
