I was just reading about this here:
Giant 15-Foot-Wide RC Plane Weighs Less Than a Pound.

That thing is awesome.

I built RC cars as a kid....wow to have built planes...

Of course in those days RC planes were exquisitely rare....

Too bad I collect cats and les Paul's....otherwise I may get into this RC thing...

Zaphod had a thread a while ago where a guy had created a fully functioning mini airport...I think a mini 747 took off if memory serves...

Anyhow, this is VERY VERY fun and I would have loved to see something like this as a kid...wow

Can't see the vid right now...other link doesn't describe propulsion . Do you know how it's powered ?

It looks to my eye to be powered by [tiny] props in the jet cowling...
Probably push prop setup as it appears to my untrained eye...

Could be wrong but i think I see them...very small but the plane looks filled with helium so little thrust would be required..

Awesome toy. I am jealous. Probably can't fly it outdoors, but cool as heck anyways. I wonder where the jet sounds come from?, Within the craft?

I wonder what would happen if you made a very low side profile lighter than air plane ( so it wouldn't be as susceptible to side wind ) , given more power ... and made into a triangular shape ( to reduce forward friction ) . Could it fly outdoors ?
Would a triangle be useful . It's obvious that a blimp-like jumbo jet had best be kept indoors...
Anyway , I'm jealous , too. Wonder what it would cost ? I'll take two and go from there . Maybe become a smuggler .

Me too, they were also cheap.

Memories of going to the local hi school black top, or any open field. Same with Estes rockets, nobody cared.

Days of freedom and pursuit of happiness gone by.

Cool video and topic.

I've always been fascinated by RC craft and thought you might like to see this.

Sadly it's a little too big to keep in the boot of your car but boy what fun it would be to fly.

Wow...you win!!
The 747 is my favorite airliner of all time...
And I somehow never flew on one...
Walked the tarmac at Zurich boarding planes surrounded by 747s over the years but Lufthansa never sat me on one...dangit

As to ur post, I would be absolutely floored to see such a cool remote control in person...

The sound is cool whatever it is...
I figured it was a surround sound system...
But could be wrong...

Btw, u and I are neighbors...
I drive up ur way to play the bridges golf course in Gunter and stop by Lucy's in Selina for a chicken fried steak every few months...
Assuming u are due north...

Exactly...blame the iPad for the s instead of c...
iPad needs a subroutine for west Texan...
I never drink dot Dr Pepper for instance yet iOS thinks I do...
Now diet Dr Pepper, that's my favorite!!
