Two close associates of terror mastermind Abu Musab al-Zarqawi have been captured according to a statement made by an Iraqi security official. This
arrest comes just days before the election that al-Zarqawi's group has vowed to disrupt.
BAGHDAD, Iraq - A top Iraqi security official said Friday the government has arrested two close associates of terror mastermind Abu Musab al-Zarqawi
just days before historic elections that Zarqawi's group has pledged to disrupt.
Qassim Dawoud, a top security adviser in the government of interim Iraqi Prime Minister Ayad Allawi, gave few details of the two arrested men but said
one had headed Zarqawi's operations in Baghdad.
The two were "important leading members" of Zarqawi's group, said Dawoud, the minister of state for national security in Allawi's government.

The noose seems to be closing in on al-Zarqawi. His chief bomb maker was nabbed and if these two are truly as close as the report seems to make them
out to be, they are slowly chipping away at his inner circle.
