I was on a second hand market the other day...
And i like lab stuff.. although i have not much knowledge of it.. : )

Anyway bought this:

The seller did say it was a "vlampunt bepaler" ( Dutch, something like: flame point determination )

I can not find anything about it, or the key words to google.

Anyone?

What is it, how to use it ?

My guess is that you smoke space drugs out of it..

Whatever it is, I don't want to undergo the procedure that requires it. Looks diabolical.

Lol..

Tnx for your replay,

Not saying i'm familiar with all the ways to use or create a nice experience in the magic world..

I think this is an actually scientific object,

But if anyone knows how to use it to spice up an easy Sunday afternoon...

Thats ok too !

I did look on scientific glass lab websites, one translated from Dutch, found nothing similar. It could be a part that goes into a boxlike digital machine.

Dildopipes are a collectors item, cherish it.

Did some quick reading. Flame point detrimation is roughly the figuring out at what temperature something makes a flame. This thing is probably use in scientific test to determine what temperature chemicals, fuels etc can take before they burst into flames. Not an easy Google at all. Haha

You know I was kinda right about it being used to smoke space drugs... in a sense that is... Lol

I did too, no succes.

Fungy thing, they seller had a few of these

So you might assume its a " common" apparatus ( nice word )

Yes! I agree

And I understand what a it would do..... if the termination is right...

But then: HOW ?

Intriguing.. I like it.

( I Did already blow some steam true it... got some intrestring condensation.. but nothing spectacular )

It has something to do with determining flash points of mixtures of gases.

To me it could be a distillation apparatus .. some sort of flash point apparatus..

The one marked "determining nitrogen in organic compounds or the cyanide distillation apparatus..

just thought I'd take a guess..

I think so to.

But how?

Nice pics!

I distill my own clean "water" up to 85% ...

With that experience and a little knowledge in mind I analysed the device...
and can not find a distilling or distracting purpose on first site.

Those are some wacky "water pipes".

I had to distill that for a nanosecond ; then decided : Possible !

I'd guess that it would be flash points of liquids. The vessel has what looks like "5ml" on it which is either the volume to be tested or the volume of the vessel. A photo next to a ruler would help scale the glassware.

Here is a rough measurement in centimeters:

It would seem that the 5ml etch has to do with sample size.

It looks similar to the top part of the bong-looking thing in the bottom left of the image.

It has a condenser.

If I had to guess it's a vacuum distillation device.

Here's the only link I could find for it in a hurry...

Linky

But that would make no sense for distillation....

It's used for sampling something. Liquid flashpoint perhaps?

A mystery for me but a fun one... I'll poke around!
