Looks like the onslaught continues.

Global warming is killing polar bears !!

But a real scientist says polar bear populations are increasing !!

Some big money names are involved in the "agenda".

So who has it this time? "real science" or "bear science".

Fake News of Polar Bears Dying From Global Warming Exposed — Again

Just in case you may have been tempted to allow your feelings of guilt and angst over your carbon footprint to subside, the New York Times is back with another polar bear alarm to boost your fear and anxiety quotient. The Times is not alone of course; The Atlantic, The Guardian, The Independent, National Geographic, and others are also sounding the hue and cry about the supposed demise (once again) of the furry, cuddly, hoary, Arctic killers. And, naturally, their lachrymose stories about these darling endangered icons are picked up and repeated, unchallenged, by countless other outlets in the establishment media echo chamber.

But relax. Ursus maritimus, the charming carnivorous mascot that is the cash cow primus maximus for the World Wildlife Fund, Greenpeace, IUCN, and other “green” exploiters, is not in any danger of extinction. In fact, polar bear populations are thriving. That is the message of Dr. Judith A Crockford, who runs the polarbearscience.com website. “The more the polar bears fail to die in droves,” she wrote in a December 21 posting, “the shriller the message from activist polar bear researchers — via willing media megaphones — that the great death of the bears will soon be upon us, just you wait and see!”

Dr.Judith A Crockford (Judith J Crockford on the PBS website) doesn't exist anywhere on the web except for this terribly built PolarBearScience.com...

So I'm gonna go ahead and say you've brought us fake news yet again.

What better place to look for endless examples of FAKE NEWS besides the world of environmentalist hypemongering?

Pretty empty piece. I was hoping for a little more information than "lots of fat bears still exist"

I am not saying there isn't truth but it just seems like opinions and vague references.

The original source of your article is polarbearscience.com, ran by Susan Crockford, mentioned in your article.

Odldy, Susan Crockford, adjunct professor (not a member of regular faculty) at The University of Victoria, B.C., has some conflicts of interest.

heartland Payments to Susan Crockford Probed

Apparently,

University of Victoria adjunct professor Susan Crockford doesn't seem interested in discussing the monthly payments she appears to receive from the climate denying Heartland Spinstitute. “Crockford would not respond to emails, and refused to speak with the( The) Martlet,” reports a UVic student newspaper attempting to probe the payments.

One of her colleagues had this to say:

“It is regrettable that anyone affiliated with the University of Victoria participated in the activities of an organization like the Heartland Institute,” says Dr. Thomas F. Pederson, Executive Director of the Pacific Institute for Climate Solutions (PICS) at UVic. “The University prides itself on being an institution of higher learning that deals with facts and that is nowhere more true than in the field of science. Those who deny that the planet is warming as a direct result of human activity are denying facts.

Actually,

Susan Crockford's actual expertise is far removed from climate science, but that's never proven to be an obstacle to receiving invitations to speak at Heartland Institute events.

and

According to the Martlet, Crockford is

“a sessional adjunct professor in Archaeozoology in the Pacific Rim with research focuses on the domestication and breed development, evolutionary theory and the evolution and history of the domestic dog.”

I find this thread to be a crock of.....

Remember when Al Gore said in his 2006 movie "An Inconvenient Truth" that in 10 years Mt. Kilimanjaro will have no snow?

Mt. Kilimanjaro in 2016

Inconvenient indeed.

The OP is from a blog, my refutations come from quotes from the Uvic newspaper and a real climate scientist at the same University, who is a member of regular faculty.

The inconvenient truth about that case study is it was sublimation (atmospheric dehydration) that 'melted' (sublimated) the glacier there.

Indeed, Mt. Kilmanjaro was a poor example to use for global warming. There is less snowfall and then the snow melts faster, but being in a tropical climate, it is more complicated and cyclical than that.

But back to the OP, polar bears are threatened, there is less ice. This is a fact. Do not pull tiny paid for blogs out of nowhere to state the polar bears are not dying or threatened. They certainly are.

I see the disinfo is working.

How many others see a story that's labeled "fake" and then feel the irresistible magnetic urge to automatically believe the official story ?

Killamajaro, when Gore cited it in his film anyways, was about sublimation not thawing (melting). To see it in real life: freeze a block of ice in a plastic container, remove it from the plastic tub, lay out out open on the shelf in the back of your freezer, over time it will literally disappear (= sublimation)!

Al Gore used a Nuclear Bomb subliminal in his An Inconvenient Truth trailer

Pretty ironic since he claims to be against the politics of fear:
Our Founders had a healthy respect for the threat fear poses to reason. They knew that, under the right circumstances, fear can trigger the temptation to surrender freedom to a demagogue promising strength and security in return. They worried that when fear displaces reason, the result is often irrational hatred and division. As Justice Louis D. Brandeis later wrote: “Men feared witches and burnt women.” -Al Gore, The Assault on Reason www.cbsnews.com...

I don't want to hear about money.

It is false logic to evaluate scientific data from that standpoint. People who don't believe in catastrophic anthropogenic climate could just as easily point to scientists who work with Governments, who stand to benefit from carbon taxes and their sock puppet charities (Green Peace, WWF, UN and Oxfam and decide that they must not be allowed to have an opinion because of their funding.

If you disagree with her opinion, say so and say why. You must either stop these horrendous attacks or you will find yourself subject to the same type of attack everytime you post something.

On her blog, she posts her qualifications to hold an informed opinion:

I am a zoologist with more than 35 years experience, including published work on the Holocene history of Arctic animals. I am currently an adjunct professor at the University of Victoria, British Columbia and work full time for a private consulting company I co-own with two colleagues, Pacific Identifications Inc. Crockford 08_21_2011_0056b Like Ian Stirling, grand-daddy of all polar bear biologists, I earned my undergraduate degree in zoology at the University of British Columbia. Polar bear evolution is one of my professional interests, which I discuss in my 2006 book, Rhythms of Life: Thyroid Hormone and the Origin of Species (based on my Ph.D. dissertation earned in 2004 at the University of Victoria, B.C. Canada), see www.rhythmsoflife.ca. You’ll find a list of my publications (with a brief introduction) further down, after the list of my most popular posts (with links). At the bottom of this page is a brief bio for posting elsewhere. And as polar bear biologist Ian Stirling states in the introduction to his new book, the opinions expressed here are my own and do not necessarily reflect those of any of the agencies that have supported my research [and in my case, this includes the University of Victoria]. No one pays me to write this blog. I am a different kind of polar bear expert than those that study bears in the field but having a different background means I know things they do not and this makes my contribution valuable and valid. UPDATE: For more detail on my background and participation in polar bear science, see this 12 March 2015 post, “On being a polar bear expert, among other things” polarbearscience.com... [short link for twitter etc. wp.me... My most popular posts so far (to end December, 2013) have been these:

It is under the about tab.

If you want to write an ad hominem attack, I suggest that you argue with her qualifications! Then others can respond with their own opinions and we can have a debate.

As for the money, everyone has a mortgage to pay and everyone is beholden to the boss.

As for myself, I will offer the 2014 report on polar bear status that indicates that the polar bear population that is known is stable but if you read the report, you will find that nothing is known about the polar bear status in most of the artic.

This means that climate alarmists have no clue what they are talking about and they are blowing smoke up our asses as usual. And we need to remember that they are well paid to do so.

www.polarbearsinternational.org...

At their 2014 meeting, the IUCN Polar Bear Specialist Group, reported that of the 19 populations of polar bears: 3 are declining 6 are stable 1 is increasing 9 have insufficient data
