I did, but much like calculus and dissecting frogs, I've never had the need for such a thing!

11/16 is 17mm for the record...a much, much, much easier number to work with!

screw " thread hijack " - the OP is satisfied with the answers given and knows that the box will get shipped at the tariff they expect

the telling thing about the whole inches bollox - is that when it comes down to real engineering they ALWAY revert to decimal ie :

in increasing degrees of tolerance // accuracy - they will demand a dimension of :

xx.50

xx.495

xx.4875

etc etc
