"Richard Adams, author of the famous children's book "Watership Down," has died at the age of 96, his family said in a statement on his official website."

96 is a long full chance at making an impact on others lives which he did with this one novel alone.

RIP...

I would also point out that Watership down is not a children's book, that publication and then cartoon messed up a whole generation.. At 34 I still cannot watch it..

JESUS, I just saw the post above and instantly have shivers...... Get rid of it.... away away

What a great book. I remember reading it when I was a child.
His works will live long beyond his time here on earth.
RIP Mr. Adams.

My heart has joined the thousand for my friend stopped running today.

A shame he is gone wonderful powerful book the film is quite tame in comparison.
did you know most of the places mentioned in the story are REAL places i live about 15 miles from
the real watership down and have walked there many times also the farm with the hutch rabbits
the iron road, ceasars belt, and i know the location that Efrafa was supposed to be.

I saw the movie, came to the conclusion that rabbits are bad @ss and went looking for the book as soon as I could find it.

Also, I missed this thread when I posted mine. I needed to do it to vent about losing Adams.
