President-elect Donald Trump has reportedly spoken of an "arms race", the day after he said he wanted America to increase its nuclear capability.

MSNBC host Mika Brzezinski said that in a phone call with her, Mr Trump commented: "Let it be an arms race, because we will outmatch them at every pass and outlast them all."

I would't worry to much about it. Trump is still in campaign mode playin to his LIVs, all hat no cattle.

He just says things then flip flops or denies he even said it.

Obama would announce our military plans on public television. Our enemies would heed the words.

Trump feigns crazy and instills true fear within those same ears.

This is a tactic to buildup the image of our nation that Obama dismantled.

EDIT: As well as keep the enemies, foreign and domestic, in a real state of confusion.

An arms race is by definition around about seventy five percent rhetoric. I would say that Mr Trump has just signalled his ability to play the game as well as everyone else.

Only a moment ago his opponents were criticising him for being too friendly with Russia.
Evidently he has taken this criticism to heart and is now following their advice.

If there was a nuclear war then there would be no winner. It isn't a game you win by having more so why build more.

Job creation and sustaining in the defence industry and the military are some of the reasons for it.

Buy defense stock..pile up guns..it is going to be a MIC presidency. After seeing how much exxonmobil spend lobbying politicians and they cut out middle man and directly appointed exxonmobil ceo, buy oil stocks as well.

The way things are going in this world and country, many people are doing their own little "Arms Race" called prepping. I think it might be a good idea, for people and Governments alike. If a Government see's that things are getting bad, they are going to make more weapons in preparation for that.

The thing is I believe trump , more than I do .

Trump is rightly responding to Putin's recent announcement that Russia would increase it's nuclear capability.

But none of this is going anywhere. Russia can't afford an arms race.

This is Putin's noise being met with a real threat in response from somebody he can't dismiss as simply bluffing, like Mr. Red-line.

North Korea are trying to build an arsenal and will use them on anyone , and I believe there in bed with Russia and China . So thats Makes Korea the flashpoint, then all the toys are out the pram !

Why not ?

People you can't build nukes and expect them to have an infinite shelf life.

People upgrade their phones,computers, cars,homes faster than our nuke arsenal.

And the older weapons systems are the most costly to maintain.

If you been paying attention to Russian ICBM/MIRV development.

It's nessecary to upgrade from systems that were designed in them 60s and 70s.

It's the freggin 21st century.
