Trumpocalypse? Suddenly Liberals Are The Ones Stockpiling Food, Guns And Emergency Supplies

This made me smile.

A lot... haha

Now that the shoe is on the other foot, many liberals all over America have suddenly become extremely interested in prepping. Fearing that a Trump presidency could rapidly evolve into a “Trumpocalypse”, a significant number of leftists are now stockpiling food, guns and emergency supplies.

In fact, even though many had expected a sharp drop in gun sales following Trump’s victory, what actually happened is that fear of what is coming under Trump pushed background checks for gun sales to an all-time record high on Black Friday.

The election of Donald Trump has awakened the left to a degree that we haven’t seen in decades, and some on the left are embracing hardcore survivalism without any apologies.

Instead, FBI background checks for gun transactions soared to a new record for a single day – 185,713 – during the Black Friday sales on 25 November, according to gun control news site The Trace.

Or....It's Christmas and people are buying guns as gifts.

But, for all the liberals out there who want to stock up on vitamins, food, water purifiers, and gold/silver then just tune into Alex Jones , Glenn Beck, or that hack blog the OP used as a source for more info!

That and conservative outlets constantly fear monger how the gov't is gonna take away our guns which in turns causes ignorant gun lovers to buy more guns. I'm sure the NRA and gun manufacturers are somehow involved in this because they continue to reap the rewards of fake news.

Do you own a gas mask? Do you stock pile food? Have a water purifier? Is there gold/silver somewhere hidden away in your house?

If that's true, American liberals are just weird.
How have they got along in catastrophes in the past? Food stockpiles are just common sense for any political faction.

It's only common sense to stockpile certain items, just in case of a rainy day--or random extinction level event.

That extra four or five cans of peaches could make all the difference...

Seriously, I can't imagine not having a couple three weeks worth of food, and the ability to purify water on hand. Just like having a fire extinguisher. Better to have, and not need, then need and not have.

Better safe than sorry. For want of a nail a shoe was lost.

I could go on all night...but none of us want that.

Nope, because liberals don't listen to and buy the BS Alex Jones, Glenn Beck, Christian evangelicals are selling on a daily basis, doom porn and survival goods.

That said, I'm sure liberals have a pantry and go food shopping and can wait out a natural disaster, like a hurricane, until everything is back in order. But do they stock pile 5 years worth of food that last for 25 years? Probably not.

Everyone's different, but I've noticed more 'liberal' people tend to shop differently also. Many health nuts, don't eat food that can easily be preserved or specific specialty items. I feel like they also shop for specific meals they are cooking that day and a couple of perishables to get by, while conservatives focus more on generic meals that can be...'stockpiled'.

I don't think their habits would take priority in a crisis though.

Prepping is and HAS always been commonsensical in light of unexpected emergencies. The power can go out, weather emergencies, any manner of normal things everyone should have rudimentary supplies to deal with. If Trump is the tipping point for folks who have been irresponsibly thinking the world will take care of them well GOOD!

The Red Cross and other agencies couldn't convince them, so this is actually not a bad thing.

Plus prepping is actual ...like....work.
A bunch of liberals learning to can food and plan meals for a week instead of spending time behind their Apps and computers ordering dinner out will keep all of them busy. I see a boom in sales of Mother Earth News, The Farmers Almanac,Water Filters and Generators. I'd rather they had those things than the latest rolex or designer handbag.

I think the contrast prior to that though is:

Liberals take food shopping for granted. It could disappear any moment.
Conservatives just hate shopping. It's the end of the world every time they go.

I'd hazard a guess that most non-liberals don't stock up on food that'll keep for 25 years. Most of that stuff is rather nasty...it may keep you going, but it's not gourmet.

Most of this stuff, if it doesn't, should cross ideological barriers. It's just, to me anyway, good common sense. Canning veggies, fish, meat--or at least knowing how, and how to get it is stuff I learned as a little boy from my parents and grand-parents.

Dried fruits and veggies, beef jerky (k, not totally healthy), nuts and seeds. Dried beans and lentils, rice, barley, oats......honey as a sweetener lasts forever if you have enough. Herbs, spices......other than the jerky, very healthy eating.
Need massive amounts of water though, and purification tablets.

I think Americans need to lose the political labels. They're really causing a lot of division in your country.

I agree, the norm of having a stocked pantry escapes most in the rush for a flat screen TV or the latest game console.

Used to be everyone had some stuff laid back for hard times or just "because".
The newer generations are woefully inexperienced should SHTF for ANY reason.

Altho I admit I am secretly smiling over the thought of some liberals experiencing their first pressure cooker explosion,
the joys of "hey? does this jar looked sealed to you??" conversation and the inevitable shock of "OMG! the beans are still hard!!!" after soaking them and boiling them for HOURS!!!
