Another year has passed, and the movie industry still is worse than ever. Maybe its just my taste, since it seems to do well with the younger crowd of today.. The X-files made a re-entry, and all i could say to that was;" wtf? ".
All the genres put on display, good or bad, what movie did you like?

Im gonna make it into different categories:

-Best Movie

-Best Foreign Movie

-Best Indie Movie

and to top it all of, the Gem award of 2016

-What was your favorite odd movie, that surprised you?

Im a big sci fi geek at heart so I kinda enjoyed a lot of films this year but I watched a film called the accountant with Ben affleck a few nights back and I very much enjoyed that even though it's not sci fi a reply to: tikbalang

Bahh humbug, they were all shyte! Actors don't act, there's generally too much CGI, the plots are thin and action movies are ridiculous, the action all gets cramped together. Bad year for movies.

Cheers - Dave

Deadpool was great,

Secret Life of Pets was pleasantly surprising for me. I usually hate family/kids movies, but I really enjoyed that one.

I saw a lot of movies in the theater this year and the absolute best movie was..
The Nice Guys. Sooo great
Other than that, I can't remember anything that blew me away.

Rogue One, fantastic film. Just a fun ride with hints of nostalgia.

Deadpool was pretty good too.

Hell or High Water

Perhaps my bias comes from being background in the casino scene on that show but it's still great.

I have to agree, Hell or High Water was the best movie I've seen all year.

This movie surprised me, I watched it on a whim and don't regret it! I typically watch Science Fiction, Thrillers, and Classics, so this was a bit out of my comfort zone... However, I wish I had a family like the one depicted in this film (and my vote for best movie of 2016) :

Warning, the following clips contain spoilers:

Captain Fantastic IMDB LINK

STICK IT TO THE MAN!!!

I really loved Deadpool and -surprisingly- the World of Warcraft movie.

I absolutely adored the Deadpool movie. The jokes were... well they were appalling, but in the very best way. I cannot wait to see what might happen in the sequel!

I have yet to see SW: Rogue One, but I have been hearing a lot of good stuff about that from sources I trust (who will call a poop movie, a big steaming pile if it is)

Rouge One

Wow.

JJ Abrams is doing more justice to the Star Wars franchise than George Lucas... I wish I could watch episodes 4.5.6 without Lucas' added cgi. So cringey. It was painful to watch what Lucus did to his own baby. Don't get met started on episodes 1,2,3....

Anyway, side rant over... rouge one is amazing on so many levels.
