Well, Clinton may have a point. Trump ran a campaign and used rhetoric similar to that of George Wallace. He used religion and racially-sensitive issues to appeal to the "silent majority", which is white folks.
Was there a valid reason to mention the "religion and racially-sensitive issues"?
And do you have a source for the religious rhetoric that you are quoting?
Donald J. Trump is calling for a complete and total shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country's representatives can figure out what the hell is going on
"But for Muslims specifically, how do you actually get them registered in a database?" the reporter asks. Trump responds: "It would be just good management. What you have to do is good management procedures and we can do that." He also responds to a question about going to mosques to "sign these people up." "Different places, you sign them up at different, but it’s all about management, our country has no management," Trump says.

We are forced to vote just as we are forced to be civil.
I think a majority of Americans are angry but some can't put their finger on it.
I think it stems from trickle down econ that never really worked, and this has allowed a huge amount of $ to go to the upper class instead of giving the rest of the "worker drones" a much needed raise.
