the electoral college didn't actually have such a noble purpose like equality among states originally, it was only introduced to persuade newer less populated states to join the union and to give incentive for future expansion through creation of new states, it was a tool meant to help insure the success of manifest destiny. it was really a stroke of luck that such a mechanism was put in place.

To quote our next president...WRONG!!
Manifest destiny didn't appear in the national lexicon until the 19th century
The Constitution was written in the 18th century
Plenty of writings from that period on the EC
None describe your scenario

California, yeah go ahead and see if they let you secede. The south tried and was crushed.

The only reason the War Of Succession was fought was because the South produced food and cotton for the North . In return, the South received manufactured goods. There was a tariff on all goods that were sold in the North but no reciprocal tariff for goods sold by the North to the Southern States. The South was "losing money" on interstate trade. And the Federal Government took the stance it was ok to do . Instead of committing to a balance under their Interstate Trade powers. So , instead of losing their "revenue" and trade goods from the Southern States , a war was declared

There is no legal reason (other than a brief put forward by Justice Scalia) that a State cannot secede from the Union. It is a mere question how far the US Federal Government will go to stop it.

Yes, this exactly, tho I would never have posted it. Slavery has become so much apart of the historical mindset, few would have believed that the tariff issue was so important. My understanding is that slavery was an afterthought.

Many states don't have that requirement so long as you're already registered to vote at your polling place. You give other information such as driver's license or social security: www.rockthevote.com...

I guess it's only a bad thing until you win, right?

That is the general Trump voter stance. On many things.

Don't forget - the elections are rigged, too.

.... Unless (not you specifically just in general) "your side," wins.

Good thing enough people listened.

Just enough to stop the fix.

Oh he just mis-spelled "Democrats".

Not a terrible theory given his track-record in spelling his 'best words' lol

Hillary's record setting -5 today is unpresidented.

You should have to show picture state ID to vote. The number of dead people voting is really high these last few elections. People voting ahead of other registered voters can make that person's real vote not registered as a vote also. We have a real lot of openings for corruption and they are being used a lot.

You should have to show picture state ID to vote.

Regardless of the merit of that sentiment, if you look at the link I provided you'll see nearly half the States do not. So I think it's missing the mark to say California has too lax of governance in that respect as it's commonplace among the States. That's all i'm saying.

It has a "hidden" meaning.

And elusive. Especially for Hillary Clinton.

HONEST QUESTION. Would the USA, as a whole, suffer in any meaningful way, if California became it's own country?

Against my better judgement, I will ask this question -
Who is from Michigan?

As far as me being a Liberal anything, not even close my friend.

Thank you for this info. Good to know that for once a left fact checker can't completely deny the facts.
