The electors that have been causing issues and taking it to court are from Colorado, Washington State and California. Those are states Clinton won so their attempt to vote for someone else hurts Clinton and doesnt affect Trump.

I read in various places that these Clinton faithless electors were trying to make a deal with Trump electors.
The deal was if they would vote for a Republican other than Trump, so would the Trump electors.
The goal was so that Trump would not get 270 and it would go to Congress.
I guess we will know soon how well that plan worked.

ETA: I think the end game goal was hoping Congress would choose Clinton re. the popular vote.

Thats not a deal! They should offer what Madonna offered! (until she welched on her offer! Since then, I have lost ALL respect for her)

They should have gotten Sam Smith up there to give the offer if they wanted to reach out to liberal men.

The Congress meets January 6th. All contested issues must have one house member and one senator sign the complaint Both houses then have 2 hours to decide the issue. ALL occurs on Jan 6th.

It means the elector is replaced with a different elector who will follow the law.

Well watching the Texas proceedings is about as interesting as watching grass grow, so i'm just gonna check in here every 5 minutes or so.

They just put an elector in a seat that was due to an absentee. There were other states that had absent electors also, they do a vote to elect an elector.

In some states, if the electors don't vote for the candidate chosen by their party, they can face a fine. But here in Texas, the electors are not bound to vote for their party's choice -- in this case Donald Trump.
