Looks like the shenanigans are already under way with Trump and China. Trump is no Obama, and the hands are back on the steering wheel. There is going to be some friction as America returns to the leadership role that has bnen neglected for the last 8 years.

China is going to give the underwater drone back, it was seized last week in international waters.

China has agreed to return the US underwater drone that it seized in international waters earlier this week, the Pentagon said Saturday.
"We have registered our objection to China's unlawful seizure of a US unmanned underwater vehicle operating in international waters in the South China Sea. Through direct engagement with Chinese authorities, we have secured an understanding that the Chinese will return the UUV to the United States," Pentagon spokesman

China's defense ministry said it has decided to return in but criticized the US for hyping up the issue. Trump called the incident unprecedented.

Earlier, China's Defense Ministry said authorities had decided to return it, but criticized the US for having "hyped up" the issue. President-elect Donald Trump weighed in on the incident, calling China's action "unprecedented."

I'm sorry, did you say last 8 years?

That was the start of decline to American hegemony? As I look up at my bookshelf and see Thomas Rick's "Fiasco". Let's not forget Iraq. I guess Afghanistan is straightened out also?

Nobody has their hand on the wheel, everyone's grabbing drone controllers.

what does Trump has to do with this?
he said on twitter they could keep it. didnt he?
the president elect told a foreign nation to just keep our technology...

China responded to return it before Trump took to twitter with another poorly spelled tirade of ill informed non sense.

Trump doesnt know how "things" work... he will learn hopefully before he makes irreversible damages.
the U.S. excuse is the thin line that is 'international waters'. international waters only a few NM from Chinese waters.
can you name any foreign drones patrolling our shores.?

Some would argue that not knowing how things work is a positive. The way things work has us at each others throats enriching a very few select people and corps.
This very well could be retaliation for talking to Taiwan. And it either was or wasn't in international waters.

How 'things' work at present is that we have continuous wars all over the planet.

I don't want him to learn how to do it the old way because that leads to more wars and the military industrial complex wanting and getting more money from mums and dads.

Why not try his blunt speech. I think China will find it refreshing.

At least they won't have to pick the hell out of politician speak and try and determine what the actual message was. Think of the utter confusion of the Chinese when ever Bush Junior had a go at the big boys microphone.

About time that World Leaders started with the TRUTH!

You and I are on the same page.
We are lead around by our patriotism and our love of country. They capitalize on that and use it to make big money. Constant war and there is no end game or no real enemy. The war on terror, the war on drugs, the war on poverty and the war on cancer. With the exception of cancer, what is the end game?

WTH? If that's the case, then why did so many conservatives bash Pres Obama for being an "inexperienced" community organizer? Or does this doublespeak only work for the candidates you support?

Because Obama did lack experience. Running a large company, and I mean a very large co. like Trump has a lot of things in common with the US govt. Organizing a community is not in the same ball park.

Sorry, he was out of his depth and still is. This is the reason the world is in such a completely untenable place. Mom and Dad went away for the week and the kids are in control. It ends here in a month or so, Dad is home.

And while I may not agree with all Trump is going to do and say, I can make a prediction, the world will see a leader and not a dithering community org.

You are so full of contradictions! You literally just said:

"Some would argue that not knowing how things work is a positive. The way things work has us at each others throats enriching a very few select people and corps."

But that only seems to apply when it's your candidate. And then you said this:

Running a large company, and I mean a very large co. like Trump has a lot of things in common with the US govt. Organizing a community is not in the same ball park.

President Obama was an elected US Senator when he was elected President in 2008! And before that, he was an elected State Senator in Illinois! How does running a company have more in common with the US Govt than actually being an elected lawmaker in the US Govt?!

My brother operates one of these. They're mapping the ocean floor and monitoring things like oxygen levels, not patrolling China's shores.

In this case it works because Obama didn't know how to get stuff done. Trump doesn't know politics or how be anything but an asshole, but he does know how to get stuff done. Tried, tested and true. I'm tired of actors that compete to play the best depiction.

Oh and the drone was off the consumer shelf parts so that spat about giving away US tech was a bit of a spoof. China has probably been counterfeiting that same rig for years. They probably picked it up cause they thought it was theirs.

Oh, does China have a handful coming. They are going to trip over themselves all the way through this. They will have no idea how to anticipate Trump to play play chess with him. There is no book here for them to study.

Best China can do is throw money at the sellouts they made rich in the US to try and stop him. Trump's proven to be pretty good at dealing with haters too.

Good job America! I mean that.

Well said, a-holes are usually very good at one thing, and everything else they neglect and is a distant 2nd to that one thing they are awesome at.

Maybe Trump will be the right guy for this job. I do not want another community organizer, Bush, hero or patriot in there. It seems what we need right now may very well be a Trump, and he isn't any of the things I just listed.

"How to get stuff done"? What stuff? Anyone can do stuff, so who decides what stuff is acceptable?

For example, some of the "stuff" Trump has done is hire illegal immigrants/undocumented workers. And screw over many of his suppliers and contractors, including small businesses. And had his businesses file for bankruptcy multiple times. And screwed over his Trump University student base, having to settle the case for $25 million. And set up deals to have his own products made in both China and Mexico.

Is that the "stuff" you're referring to that's supposed to make him better at getting stuff done?

He already had Mexico wanting to "modernize" nafta, Community Organizer 0.

He already has IBM hiring 25,000 employees, Community Organizer 0.

Carrier, Community Organizer 0.

Ford, Community Organizer 0.

Trump is a distasteful person, braggy and unpleasant, but will get things done. And yes it is obvious what needs to be done.

If I substitute the word "stuff" for "business" will you STFU?

This guy has been bankrupt how many times and people will still give him their money.

The US like many western countries runs like a business. It needs people to invest in them and it needs to captivate the minds of its consumers.

If there is a more driven business man that is not Trump, not being scouted by Trump, then tell me.

Are you a socialist or something? I don't want to have this conversation if your a socialist. I have a head ache already...
