Someone dear to me passed away today,
And I wasn't there to share or say,

How I feel about them and words unspoken,
Dreams have shattered and are now broken,

I took them for granted, waiting for the chance,
Now they have left me without a glance,

Oh how I wish I told them what they mean to me,
That I hold them in my heart and soul to be,

An everlasting feeling I will always cherish,
I will not let their life be in vain and perish,

Some where, some day, some how, some way,

I will find them in another time or dimension,
Forgive myself and relieve the tension,

I hope they know how much I love them.

Yeah it's a bugger
Nothing worse, nothing I can say, not a word
It's just a sad thing
Never wanted to embrace sadness but it always makes it easier than denying the pain

Remember them as they were and what you liked about them and understand it's just a passage of time which we all conclude. Birth, Life, Love and Death are just a flicker in time!

Goodmorning searcher.

I am sorry for your loss.

I remember how hard it was for my Mother at Christmas. She lost her own Mother at Christmas, and no matter how hard my Dad tried, he couldn't take that hurt away for her.

Night started a thread for folks missing loved ones at Christmas. Or anyone just feeling Not so festive.

I'm so sorry about your loss. This is a horrible time of year for it, not that there is a good time of year for losing loved ones but around the holidays is worse.

Thanks CK, holidays do not really matter to me with regard to this, just that I wish I had been able to be there for them in their time of pain.

Thanks Skid, every day is the same to me, but it is difficult to not be there for someone in their time of need, I was not able to talk to them because they were on a machine, I did at least get to talk to their kids.

Seems it is always the case the ones you hold most dearly are the ones who we all take for granted they will always be there for you,and pretty much everyday I think about them,.I could say "don't feel bad' but everyone feels differently,I know I still do,not good to dwell on things ,always an exception especially mom and dad

Yah, don't be sad for the loss, be glad for the friendship. That part is forever.

My dear one, they know how much you love them and their love will always be. I am so sorry for you loss and pain. May your grief be short but your memories of your loved one with you forever.

I wish you PEACE.

I am sorry for your loss. I believe your dear one knows now what's in your soul, and will send you a kind thought every now and then, when you most need it.

Beautiful poem. Is that one of yours?

I wish you peace and grace.

I'm sorry for your loss.
I like to think that, even if they appear not awake, they sense our presence somehow.
That perhaps they can feel the love we have and are comforted by that.

Near the end with my own mother, I would talk to her and squeeze her hand. She would squeeze mine back, even though she was unable to communicate verbally in any way and seemed unconscious or stuck somewhere between here and there.
I can't believe it was merely reflex.

I hope you find strength and peace.

Thank you Bird, I do wish I could have given a squeeze physically, but they did get the most I could and still will get what I have spiritually.

I don't really grieve for them as much as I am saddened they are not here, relieved they have moved on to what I believe is a much better existence.
