That was fast. Trump's not even in office yet and he wants to screw over seniors by getting rid of a rule that requires investors to serve seniors well instead of putting their retirement savings into funds with large fees. How ironic that Republicans are always indignantly denying that they want to bankrupt granny, but that's exactly what they always do when given the chance.

Another retiree protection on the chopping block in the Trump Administration is the Department of Labor's "fiduciary rule." Scheduled to go into effect next April, the rule mandated that financial advisers offering retirement advice and products act in the best interest of investors. Backed by the powerful business lobbies The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the securities and insurance industries, the anti-DOL forces have been suing to scrap the pro-investor rule. Trump and other Republicans had said they want to get rid of the DOL's signature firewall for retirees.

The link you posted has one quote from trump.

"We're not going to hurt the people who have been paying into Social Security their whole life," Trump declared, calling the payment of promised benefits "honoring a deal."

The rest of the article is all ,might, could, may,,,,
In other words completely made up to scare people.

Same blog again? You are getting a lot of mileage outta that. Just spent a little time looking this guy up. He's anti Trump, anti GOP, anti gun......This is an OPINION piece.

The author is a Forbes contributor. The opinions expressed are those of the writer.

The sky really is falling for you guys, huh?

Who said the sky was falling... other than yourself?

Ah, more of the "fake news."

Lol. Can't debate the topic - just yell fake news and/or attack the source.

Forbes is now on the "liberal fake news list."

By the way, continue with the fabrication and over-exaggeration you use. "The sky is falling for you guys," LOL - can't debate the topic, throw some ad hom personal attacks in there, too.

The Trump cult completely plug their eyes and just chant "LaLaLaLaLa," anytime anything negative their messiah comes around.

Ya'll can't take criticism without resorting to ad hom or attacking the source lol.

Bunch of hypersensitive crybabies.

The rule isn't in place till April, but he's being accused of getting rid of something that doesn't yet exist? Okay. I'm scared!

Aside, that blog writer needs a copy editor. The concepts the writer is attempting to cover are difficult to follow with incomplete sentences and odd use of punctuation.

Its not Trump wanting your social security, like any good 'Presider' he's just to be the one blamed. They (the banks) been wanting to steal that like every other security, since forever.

Well, they won't actually steal it, they'll just use it as collateral, leverage it with debt and then feign ignorance about where it all went.

Hey soon to be retired people, think the US gubment will 'bail you out', like they did the banks and corporations in 2008?

Wow! So relevant! Such topic! Wow! So predictable!

Man, this must've really gotten to you if you came over to the crybaby section just to let us all know that.

Continue with the off topic ad hominem slander techniques. You have literally nothing to say that has any relevance to ANYTHING OP posted.

I'm just amazed at the level of complexity and well-thought out nature of your post. You're just making random # up, then holding it out and yelling "this stinks," LOL.

If it isn't even the same month he's to go on to take office, then how could he have delt with legislation due to go into effect as soon as April? How isn't this Obama's hot potatoe?

Isn't it funny how even when you quote Republicans saying they want to do something their fans here pretend it's a made up conspiracy. Talk about detached from reality.

The issue is that these rules often hurt the people they claim to be protecting by making it impossible to serve them.

Often times the govt regulatory agnecies have no hard data justifying the rules.

In this case critics are concerned because it would make it more costly to serve lower and middle income retirees.

We see this in the housing finance market where supposed rules to protect borrowers have made it much harder for banks to make smaller loans because they cant charge what is necessary to do it profitably. Now the people who were supposed to be helped are finding it hard to even get a loan.

Govt makes too many regulations without really undwrstandung their impact and unintended consequences. They rarely go back and do a self assessment to see if the regs are even working.

Confirmation bias and cognitive dissonance. Those who put their partanship over their country are unable to see past their own pre-comcieved notions.

In this case, "Republican good, Democrat bad."

It doesn't matter WHAT Trump says or WHAT he does. I remember when Donnie was going on about "no fly, no gun," and people were defending him. After whining and complaining that Obama is going to take their guns, LOL.

This is just another example of the "small government," clowns that want Uncle Sam to be involved in EVERY facet of Americans' lives.

and apparently you didn't read the reason for my edit. Liberals are running in circles, trying to find any way they can to claim the sky is falling. As evidence, the use of one blog to create several threads. Trump is not even in office yet and you guys are losing your minds. Have fun.
