An Israeli group is upset that Boeing is selling airplanes to an Iranian airline and claims “We are going to seize all 100 airplanes”. How nice of them. It's time for Americans to tell Israeli's to stay the hell out of our business.

Finally
Something I can agree with you on.

Why does the US continue to provide so much support the Israel? They are more than capable of taking care of themselves, They don't need billions of dollars of US taxpayer money every year.

The relationship seems very one sided to me.

Or the US to stay out of the Middle East
More arms more dead people but that's ok, the US makes money
Country of grim reapers

and why do the US need Israel, so they can station their army there and have a presence in the Middle East so they can protect their own interests...obviously
Every one else around the ME hates your guts

Israel is kinda like the little guy that starts a big fight then stands back and snickers as everyone dukes it out, unmindful who started the fight in the first place. We haven't heard from them in a while because everything is going according to plan, i.e., kill as many arabs as possible without getting their own hands bloody.

you maybe wanna put the comment to seize the aircraft into context? Or are you intentionally leaving it out? Also its a law firm representing Israeli citizens in US Courts and is NOT the country of Israel. Given the comments I see people only read / saw what they wanted.

The group in question has valid court judgements against Iran and can collect those judgements, even if it means filing leans against Boeing to seize the Iranian airliners they bought. Just as Iran had the right to seize several freighters from the Marshall Islands (A us protectorate) to settle a court ruling.

Maybe put the anti-semetism aside and read / understand the article before commenting / assigning blame.

* - Nitsana Darshan-Leitner
* - Shurat HaDin - Israel Law Center (ILC), founded in 2003, is a Tel Aviv-based civil rights non-governmental organization

In case you missed the pertinent info here it is. Given it was buried in the first paragraph I can see how you and others might have missed it.

An Israeli advocacy group on Thursday asked a U.S. federal court to block aerospace giant Boeing Co.’s planned $16.6 billion deal with Iran Air, saying the Tehran government must first pay off billions of dollars in damages to families of people killed or wounded by Iranian-backed militant groups.

In papers filed in the Northern District of Illinois court, the Shurat Hadin-Israel Law Center organization said it was seeking a lien against Boeing until the damages against Iran are recovered.

“We are going to seize all 100 airplanes,” said Nitsana Darshan-Leitner, the group’s director. “If Boeing thinks it will simply sell to Iran Air, which is 60 percent owned by the Iranian government, and pretend it is providing some sort of humanitarian civilian aid to a non-governmental entity, we will reveal the truth.”

Even with the quote in it's context it still seems rather crooked. This advocacy group is asking for reparations from "Iranian backed groups."

Those groups may not be representative of Iran's government but merely Iranian rogue citizens, in which case the nation of Iran wouldn't be in debt.

And I know you may label this Anti-Semitism, but I'm not talking about Jews but rather about Israel as a nation when I say that the Palestinians can easily make a case that Israel owes them quite a bit of reparations as well.

The whole deal could get killed by a Trump administration and a Republican Congress.

Boeing Speaks in Trump Terms on Iran Deal: It’s About Jobs
Boeing said its agreement with Iran called for 80 planes to be delivered, starting in 2018. They include 50 of a new version of its single-aisle 737 jet, 15 of its larger 777s and 15 of a new 777X that should be ready for service by 2020.

House Republicans have sought to block the sales, and Mr. Trump has said Iran would not have been able to negotiate with Boeing if it had not been for the “disastrous Iran nuclear deal,” which put limits on Iran’s nuclear programs. But in a tweet that gives Boeing hope, he also expressed concern last January that Iran might buy its jets from Airbus instead of Boeing.
...
Another big hurdle for Boeing would be how to finance its sales to Iran. Conservatives in Congress have been trying to kill the Export-Import Bank of the United States, which has long provided subsidized credit to promote American exports. Mr. Trump has said he does not think the bank is needed, but he added that he had not made a final decision.

Meanwhile, airline passengers continue to die in old, worn out planes in Iran, due to hitherto unavailability of new planes and parts due to sanctions. List of Iranian Aviation Accidents and Incidents

How? Because a group used the legal system to obtain a valid court verdict and then used the legal system again to have the verdict enforced?

Just as Iran did with the freighters from the Marshall Islands, which you ignored. Iranian backed groups = backed by the government of Iran. The Boeing deal with the Iran airlines, as pointed out, is 60% owned by the Iranian government. For the purposes of the initial court rulings as well as for the latest court case, its valid and on sound legal ground.

As for Palestine they can use whatever legal means at their disposal to make there case, like they have been doing in the UN. Either way it has no bearing in the conversation because in the op article its not the government of Israel taking this action but an NGO.

I dont see how it could be killed since its a court proceeding and falls under the Judicial branch and not the executive branch. This is not a criminal case either but a civil one to enforce an already existing court verdict.

As for airlines being old the buy them from Russia. Oh, thats right, they cant.

The deal for 80 Boeing passenger jets can be killed. If the deal between Iran Air and Boeing is killed by Congress and Trump, then there will be no planes for Shurat Hadin-Israel Law Center to seize.

Maybe. However, Iran directly funds and supports some nasty little (and big) groups in the perpetuation of Muslim on Muslim hatred and intolerance, and on the avowed intention to remove Israel "from the map".

Groups like Palestinian Islamic Jihad and Hezbollah and Hamas.

Considering the terms of the sale I doubt Congress will kill it. What will kill the deal is Iran being unable to find the money to pay for the purchase, which seems to still be a problem.

Here's an idea:
Exxon-Mobil orders 80 planes from Boeing to be delivered to Rosneft in Russia.
Rosneft/Exxon-Mobil moves 80 Boeing jets to their as yet to be chosen drilling site in Iran.
Rosneft/Exxon-Mobil sells Iran Air 80 planes, in a credit deal.
Every body wins!

Except that does violate the terms of the agreement / sale.

The main issue for Iran is finding the cash to pay for them.

There's a simple solution to this.

Boeing should hold an auction for the 100 airplanes, and let Iran and Israel both bid on the merchandise.

Winner take all.

As the old testiment says,

A feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh merry: but money answereth all things. -- KJV, Ecclesiastes 10:19

So, settle it with cash.

Boeing employees have to eat. They need to make sales. But, they should be indifferent to whom the sale is made. It's the same profit.

Just let the two sides decide who wants the air-plains more.
