One of the top neocons and a member of the Center for Security Policy, IASPS, and JINSA, is leaving the Bush administration. According to official sources, it is due to "personal" reasons. Feith will continue his work on the War on Terrorism until his departure. No replacement was named.

Douglas Feith, the Defense Department’s top policy officer and an architect of the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq, announced Wednesday that he would leave his job this summer for personal and family reasons.

Feith will continue to work on “big-ticket” issues until he leaves, including the U.S.-declared war on terrorism, the development of a new U.S. global defense posture and the Quadrennial Defense Review, a Defense Department planning tool that is redone every four years, Ruff said.

Feith was in charge of the OSI and the CTEG at the Pentagon that created the fake intelligence in Iraq linked them with Al-Qaida. Feith has very close ties to Israel and is a dual citizen of the US and Israel. He is a former lawyer for the firm Feith and Zell based in Washington, who was the firm Northrop Grumman hired to represent them.

Feith also authored several memos immediately after 9/11 stating that Iraq should be invaded in retaliation for 9/11.

His resignation is likely due to the FBI's AIPAC spy probe getting too close for comfort.
