There is no evidence of the Kremlin or 'Russia' being involved. The only claim is that a known Russian hacker(s) were trying to access email accounts and servers. These same hackers turn up regularly and have done over some time. There is no evidence that they are the only ones and no evidence that the actual information released from wikileaks came form these people or another hacker, or indeed from a Washington insider (which is the most credible evidence we have so far from Mr Murray)

If that is your 100% proof, then your analysis lacks credibility.

you have no idea what you are talking about....unless you know the CLASSIFIED information that has already been given to congress....your analysis lacks evidence as does all civilians without classified clearance......tell all of us here, your classified security status

The House Intelligence Committee asked to be briefed and scheduled a meeting for it. It is they who wanted more information obviously, or they would not have requested the meeting. The CIA would not attend. That's all.

RIght...and the CIA is busy preparing a report to be released to the WH, Congress, the committee and as much as possible the Public...

President Obama has directed the intelligence community to conduct “a full review” of the 2016 election in light of reports of Russian interference, homeland security adviser Lisa Monaco said Friday.

The report is expected to be completed and transmitted to Congress before he leaves office Jan. 20.

thehill.com...

So the GOP in Congress who have been compromised via hacks themselves can get the full report in a few days.

Should be interesting

You have claimed that the GOP House Intelligence Committee have been hacked and earlier on that they are involved with Russia.

No I said they very well could be compromised because GOP in Congress were hacked by the Russians, but that data was not released...which infers the Russians are mining for blackmail leverage...

Do you have any evidence for this or is it more fake news.

Oh...I am sure it qualifies as Fake News to you?...And you will continue to claim so even when the CIA report emerges..

But here you go...

Russian hackers breached accounts of GOP individuals and organizations prior to the election -- including GOP House members,

www.cnn.com...

This is not evidence. It is a claim. One refuted by the RNC. So we have a claim and counter claim and zero evidence.
If this is you evidence that the GOP is open to blackmail then it's clear you are guessing. Positioning it as fact is indeed fake news.

Are you ever going to retract your disinformation about Mr Murray not being in Washington? If you can't even admit that as an error then it can only be purposeful disinformation.

I would suspect the CIA will want a list of the attendees of that event and then they can narrow down the 'Washington Insiders' and look to corroborate the claim of a leak as opposed to a hack. It seems far more plausible that this was a leak.

Whether UKTruth, or anyone else here, has a security classification is irrelevant (and demanding it is actually against site T&C's). You 2 were discussing the CIA refusal to appear before their congressional oversight committee. We don't need clearance to know that it happened. If there is evidence of hacking...the people's representatives have asked for proof. And they ignored their constitutionally required duty to even engage in conversation over it.

If the CIA has assets in-field they need to pull before sharing sensitive intelligence to a very leaky and a potentially compromised (Reports are the Russians hacked GOP in Congress emails) committee...they have a right and responsibility to do so.

They are preparing the full report now and will release versions to the WH, Congress, the committee and the public before Dec. 20th when Pres. Obama officially checks out.

BTW - The CIA Reports to the Director of National Intelligence...who reports to the Executive Branch (POTUS)

The Select Intelligence Committee holds the purse strings and can choose to defund the CIA...Or pass laws and legislation empowering or depowering them...but the CIA reports to the President, not the Select Oversight Committee on Intelligence..

They are not obligated scuttle an ongoing investigation and report because the committee prematurely demands they do so. Their first obligation is to the executive branch which demanded they report back before his term ends in 5 days.

Which kills the notion that they will brief the Electoral College before Monday. After all, they are too busy.
It's Jan 20th by the way when Obama checks out.

Correct...I wrote Dec. 20th and meant Jan. 20th...

I doubt they will be able to brief the electoral college by Monday, but who knows..Lot's of things in motion...

They definitely will complete the investigation before Trump is sworn in..

I am sure by then, the most credible evidence so far made public, from Mr Murray, will be included in the report.

What do you find credible about Mr. Murray's tale? The man has a ridiculously spotty past, filled with all kinds of unsubstantiated claims and the OP itself began with a lie claiming he was ambassador to Russia...A lie that you yourself have failed to acknowledge was a lie?

If our governemtnw ould stop using "national security" to hide their misdeeds, i could swallow this.

But those clowns have lost the luxury of public trust. Unfortunately for all of us.

so, in regard to your own words, "those clowns have lost the luxury of public trust".....you think "national security" is used to hide misdeeds, and that means by you own words, that the men and women that work in these agencies are obviously crooks.......ok, I understand

It's the natural evolution...first Trump directed his supporters to no longer listen to the News and Fact-Checkers..

Now it is the CIA are "liberal" "progressive liars"...soon to be followed by the GOP in Congress when they get the full, unvarnished and un-redacted picture of what Russia did...Everyone is the Bogeyman that reveals facts that Trump don't comport with Trump lies...I forgot the FBI...Trump can't seem to make up his mind there...

That is not Mr Murray's lie/mistake. It was the OP's which I hope will be corrected.

Are you going to correct your misinformation or not? It was very important to the time line and the ongoing investigation.

I believe his information is most credible so far (though is by no means solid proof) as he has come forward with direct, first hand knowledge and has the background and contacts to be at least in the circles of the people he claimed to know leaked the information.
Like I said, he has named a specific event he was at where the source was revealed. That is a hot lead for any investigation and put Mr Murray directly in the line of sight of the CIA. He would not have been so specific as to gives times and places, without expecting the next few weeks / months of his life to be answering CIA questions.

We have a person who claims to know the source directly, we have a time and place. That is far more than the CIA have produced (at least publicly) - all we know about 'Russian hacking' is that fancy and fuzzy bear were trying to hack the DNC server, which Crowdstrike have already said was not the first time, in fact they said these people were at it for some time.

That is far more than the CIA have produced (at least publicly)

Publicly a dozen different cyber analysts (including the one retained by the Trump campaign) have released clear evidence chains linking the hack to the leaks...right down to the exact material accessed and the bitly link used to access it tracing back to Fancy Bear, the hacking arm of the FSB.

What the CIA has goes deeper than that.

A disgraced loon? Former Ambassador and Human Rights Activist who had the integrity to turn down 3 honours from the Queen of England. We do not know if the accusations against his office of 'dolly birds' is even true, yet you smeared him with it and now call him disgraced. Seems like a tactic we have all become familiar with in the Democratic party campaign. You should apply.

No, not anyone can make a claim. If you knew Assange AND mixed in the circles that an Ambassador does then your claim (or anyone with those credentials) would be taken more seriously, obviousy - and even if he does have a penchant for dolly birds. It's like saying Donald Trump once talked about grabbing p****, so therefore knows nothing about real estate.

Evidence of hacking is not evidence that the Wikileaks information was hacked by the Russian govt. Years of 'Fuzzy Bear' hacks does not constitute evidence that Wikileaks got it's information from Russia.

I am assuming you will not correct your mistake about Mr Murray's Washington event, so I will conclude you knowingly posted fake news and hoped no one would pick you up on it.

Stolen Yahoo Data Includes Government Employee Information

FBI, CIA, NSA, White House workers among hacking victims

Former intelligence officers say leak could aid foreign spies

More than 150,000 U.S. government and military employees are among the victims of Yahoo! Inc.’s newly disclosed data breach, and their names, passwords, telephone numbers, security questions, birth dates, and backup e-mail addresses ..

These employees had given their official government accounts to Yahoo in case they were ever locked out of their e-mail.

"We went to great lengths to keep the fact people worked at NSA as low-profile as we possibly could. The last thing we’d want is an alpha list of NSA employees," said Lonny Anderson, former technology director for the NSA

...

The other had an unusual request before completing the purchase. The buyer gave the sellers a list of ten names of U.S. and foreign government officials and business executives, to verify their logins were part of the database. That led Komarov to speculate the buyer was a foreign intelligence agency.

What has this got to do with the Wikileaks information that Mr Murray said came from a Washington Insider?
I don't think you'll find anyone who thinks corporate and govt. espionage does not exist.

I already locked down my email addy on ATS...Trump is directing people to alternate news as primary source, he or his minions will need to go after dissenting voices in this medium to clean up messaging. Random tax audits? Computer viruses? It would be foolish to think that ATS could protect identities ...

Not sure why this is even an issue. According to Wikipedia:
Wik Craig_Murrayi

Craig John Murray (born 17 October 1958[1][2]) is a former British ambassador to Uzbekistan, and was the Rector of the University of Dundee (2007–10).

Okay, let's look at Uzbekistan then...
en.wikipedia.org...

The area was gradually incorporated into the Russian Empire during the 19th century, and in 1924 what is now Uzbekistan became a bordered constituent republic of the Soviet Union, known as the Uzbek Soviet Socialist Republic (Uzbek SSR). Following the breakup of the Soviet Union, it declared independence as the Republic of Uzbekistan on 31 August 1991 (officially celebrated the following day).

Uzbekistan was part of Russia until 1991.

Yeah. We had a political assassination take place and a couple months later our leaders are talking up a mcarthy era red scare /witch hunt whilst our muck racking press is caught in a cycle of vitriol towards our president elect and entertaining viewers with fluff and BS. All way too busy with that to be bothered with looking into the death of a corruption whistle blower.

I wonder if when our age ceases to be the "modern" era what it will be called instead. Perhaps the age of liars and idiots.

Uzbekistan was very much NOT Russia when Murray was an ambassador there in the early 2000's..

No one says the ambassador to Poland is the ambassador to Russia.

Yet it WAS Before 1991. It was the editor's error not mine. But it was part of russia in the past.

In anycase, this has NOTHING to do with him saying he knew who the leaker was and its frankly a waste of time. Pick another fight, cause yours is meaningless.
