According to African Union observers, Sudanese government troops launched an air raid on a village, killing at least 100 refugees. The majority of the casulties were women and children. This attack follows an announcement by the UN that a report deciding whether genocide is being commited or not will be released to the public next week.

Some 100 people have been killed in an air raid on a village in Sudan's Darfur region, say African Union troops monitoring a ceasefire.

The Sudanese air force had been accused by aid agencies of bombing villages in violation of the agreement.

The bombing was on the border between North and South Darfur, where the government has accused rebels of mounting recent attacks and is believed to have been around the village of Shangil Tobaya, 65km south of El-Fasher.

This ends a ceasefire agreement between the rebels and the goverment of Sudan. If you follow the links, interestingly, there is a photo of a soldier holding a gun and the armband he's wearing identifies him as an AU soldier. However, the reports I heard from Sudan regarding the Nigerian AU soldiers is that the were unarmed and could only observe and report, not engage.

Again we see that despite all the bellowing of the US, UN, and several EU countries, the genocide continues unabated.
