This is a very interesting article. I am not a big believer in lizard men, but this story makes it seem more plausible.

I think you have found the very first sci-fi cave painting.

Not everything artists draw is real.

Perhaps they used their imagination.

Or perhaps this was the grade one class cave.

Animism and tribal ceremony, likely the tribe or perhaps it's shamen wore ceremonial head gear made from crocodile head's and may even have used the crocodile limb's in some way, I believe that is just what happened here, while other cave men where spraying paint from there mouth's onto rock faces with there hand's against them to stencil them these guy's were doing so with crocodile feet instead of there hand's which they may also have worn like weapon's.

I can almost imagine them calling themselves the dragon people or something similar but it is interesting if you take it in the context of another African tribe the Dogon, they could have been using crocodile's to emulate similar god like being's whom in the case of the Dogon were fish like and semi aquatic.
