The Obama Legacy

Well, in a few weeks President Obama will be ending his final term as President of the United States and it will be time to take stock of his administration's place in history. In spite of all the rhetoric, propaganda, talking points and fake news about him, ultimately Barack Obama will not be recorded as the failure that the right-wing has painted him to be. Let's recap his record.

- Recovered the US economy from the Great Recession that started at the end of the previous administration
- Ended the Iraq war for all intents and purposes
- Eliminated the world's most notorious terrorist leader Osama bin Laden as well as several lesser terrorist leaders
- Fought ISIS in an extended air campaign which stopped their takeover of Iraq
- Passed the first comprehensive medical reform bill since the 1970's expanding health insurance coverage for millions of people
- Passed a new international climate change accord
- Got Iran to sign an agreement to limit their nuclear program
- Oversaw the creation of 15 million new jobs money.cnn.com...
- Took action to mitigate the economic time bomb of the student loan debt crisis
- Dealt smartly with several small-scale insurrections that could have caused large scale revolts if not handled carefully

What were the negatives?

- Recovery from the recession took longer than expected
- A lot of racial unrest came to the fore for reasons largely unrelated to the President (police killings) but largely blamed on him
- The world became more destabilized. Again, largely as a result of the previous administration, but many blamed it on Obama regardless www.cnn.com...
- The President's attempts to repair relations with foreign countries by apologizing for previous American actions were perceived as unpatriotic by some segments of America


Overall, when historians look back on the Obama administration with objective eyes, they will see a President who accomplished a lot of large achievements in the face of overwhelming partisan opposition and a lot of largely baseless public discontent. They will see a president who left America no worse off and probably better off than it was after the previous administration. They may ultimately list Obama an average President, but they definitely won't rate him as one of the worst.

Barack Hussein Obama's legacy is of division, mandates, mixed messages, wrong actions, arrogance and failure. It remains to be seen just how traitorous his administration has actually been.

It will hopefully be a lesson for the future.

And the Obama Library will have many empty shelves.

The US economy hasnt recovered.

He just put a bandaid on it with quantative easing.

Those new "jobs" created are mostly # minimum wage service jobs not real jobs you can live off that where lost in the great recession and in the decades leading up to it.

Rich have got vastly richer and the poor a lot poorer.

If that is true it's not because of Obama, but because of the ignorant, retarded, barbarians that now make up almost half of America.

He may have done or said a few things here or there that could be construed as divise (appointing Holder for example), but 90% of the divisiveness has been done by conservatives, and largely for no legitimate reason.

The OP's post is revisionist and delusional at best. Let's review Obama's success story; Administration lied to the public about the Iran nuclear negotiations. Obamacare promised you could keep your doctor and save $2500.00 a year on medical... while the guys designing the program were laughing at us behind closed doors. The President used the IRS to go after the Tea Party, Benghazi was a major failure probably tied to the HRC email server. We have seen the rise of ISIS and the resulting Muslim Invasion of Europe due to Libya being destabilized. Russia has suddenly become militarily engaged in Syria plus it seized the Crimea and attacked Georgia due to Obama's flawed foreign affairs views. Let's not forget gun running to Mexican drug cartels and the racial divide that has occurred under Obama. Finally, the Trans Pacific Partnership that no one was allowed to read until it's passed. Yeah, Obama is great and I can see his legacy being a lot of federally mandated Barack H. Obama Transgender bathrooms.

This sort of post was addressed by Skeptic Overlord, years ago. Maybe the rules have changed but I have not seen that memo.

We will feel his legacy for years to come.
His healthcare plan hasn't taken full effect yet. Bend over.
His handling of the Middle East will result in more troops on the ground within a decade.
Ten more trillion to the debt will finally catch up to us.

That's some legacy.

T.A.R.D is a true disease that is infecting liberals across the country. It is also causing the government corruption across the board. Trump Acceptance Reality Disorder has been included in the newest DSM-V.

Psyciatrists across the country are reporting epidemic numbers. It is especially bad on university campuses. Currently there is no known cure. Exposure to facts has been know to exacerbate their symptoms.
