Taking a closer look at the supposedly new "fake news" controversy.

This last month following the 2015 election, the news cycles have been
dominated by stories and accusations of fake news. Hysterical talking heads
running night and day on the few big main stream "News" outlets claim supposedly
that these fake news stories are dangerous, costing lives, and altering election
results. Newscasters shrill voices are near fever pitch, whipping people up into
a distrubed frenzied state. Some are even calling for Congressional oversight
into these fake news stories. Oh my, the irony!

Its time to take a closer look, as all is not seems.

First, lets take a look at the long history of fake news, of which there
is no greater source of this than The "Shadow Government" that
controls the corporate owned and controlled media outlets. Yes,
this is the CIA, and other alphabet agencies, and the handful of
so called "official" but not "official" sources.

The "Government" has been planting and promoting fake news
stories for a very long time, nothing new about fake news. This
was made public one of the first times in 1975 by the CIA's William Colby
during the Church Committee Hearings.

Operation Mockingbird - CIA Media Control Program

en.wikipedia.org...

Is this still happening today? It is obviously happening.
The year preceding the election was full of fake news
stories, promoting and protecting the "official narrative".

Along with the controlled corporate media and their
24 hour a day "Newspeak" propaganda cycles, we have
the newsprint articles for those a little more awake.
But even these must be looked at closely. For example,
in a recent WaPo article, source ProporNot, an
anonymous online group that was cited as a credible
source to discredit other outlets of spreading propaganda
and fake news. See how that works? Washington Post cites
an anonymous source, and claims they are somehow a cut
above the rest of the outlets. A closer look at PropOrNot leads to
a few names that are questionably linked to spreaders of fake news.

Russian Propaganda effort helped spread "fake news" during the election

We certainly cant forget the candidate who lost the election
because of fake news. Yes, she lost because of fake news, only
it was her own fake news that really cost her the election. A
look back in time:

Trump right that Clinton made up story about Bosnia sniper fire

Another fake news story courtesy of Hillary Clinton

And another:

Bengahzi Report points out Obama, Clinton lies

Trey Gowdy grills Clinton on Benghazi, Bluementhal, Media Matters,
and Correct The Record. And .....fake news!!!

This thread is not about Clinton, nor Trump, nor Pizza, nor
is it about The Russians. It is about the real spreaders
of fake news, and what might be their agenda in this?

Take a good look at what is really happening here, it seems obvious
that there is a concerted effort to whip up the people about "fake news"

Why? Whats that about?

Well, fake news is nothing new, and yes it certainly is dangerous. However,
those pointing the finer have five pointing back at them.

So, lets stay sane during the fake news "hysteria".

Hysteria is precisely the word to use.

Watch for the intricacies, the double standards in the dialog in all this everyone. Observe, and be sure to repeat your observations in how fake this noise all is. As such...

A new detail that I find striking is how fallacy is now being presented as deliberate disinformation = FAKE NEWS. Not that I'm a fan of fallacious / absolutist thinking; in fact I can be a real anti-fallacious nitpickery bastard. But it is what people often do. It's a major component of belief; it's how belief is communicated; therefore if someone believes something is true and communicates it as such... well I've seen it argued now that 'absolutist language' in regards to items of discussion that may be probable but can't exactly be proven then that (spinning) can be spun as FAKE NEWS.

Now NEWS sources really shouldn't do that. In regards to if NEWS does it that's when I do get extra drippingly anal about such fallacious communications. But the thing here is, I've seen it argued in regards communicators whom aren't even 'supposed to be' journalists. And that little morsel there is the Big Story in all of this CENSORSHIP: we're already seeing hints at how far reaching this thing is designed to be and we're only but a month into this dark dystopian mind-f&##.

Fake news isn't new

What is new is a significant portion of the population willing (or even wanting) to believe it.

The mainstream media, which one can accuse of varying degrees of bias and hyperbole, has turned people off (particularly right-wingers, who still have FOX, mind you) to the extent that they've stopped worrying about whether the story is real and instead focus on whether it satisfies their innate biases.

These people are checking out of reality, en masse.

And the rest of us have to maintain a society with these people in it.

This became obvious to me the other night when I caught a glimpse
of the nightly news... MSNBC, and a hysterical Rachel...it has been
non stop since the election.

And yes, what is striking is many of these so called fake news stories
did not even originate in the U.S., but one from Canada, off a blog.

Your spot on with that observation, these were not fake news stories,
they were just blogs, and forums with people conversing, oh the crime!

The term "yellow journalism" was used in the late 19th century to describe fake news. This phenomena has been around since newspapers were in circulation.

Yes, I think you might have hit on it there DC, its
a back handed attack on free speech.

By labeling it "fake news", which is characterizing people
talking among themselves as "news". Blog posts that
need to be regulated...this is all too familiar.

I guess they had to find a way to get a win out
of Clinton's loss, this is it. Fake news hysteria
so there can be more regulation on free speech!

Muckrakers all of them

They have been around since modern journalism existed...

The difference now is you have a series of generations of liberals with delicate sensibilities who cannot except losing…
They whine and cry when they lose…
And it's been a generation since progressives were dealt such a decisive, possibly fatal blow…

All of this whining continues to be of unending joy to my wife and I…
It's absolutely hysterical and has found us watching CNN simply to drink up the liberal tears…

I think that the mainstream news wants people to think there is an
epidemic of something, like they do with the flu scares, and such.

Indeed, yet they sure have the confidence that exposes their
hidden backers -

If The Ministry of Propaganda had a name....

Yup.

And they are attempting to get people herded into an "MSM comfort zone".

Then they can create semi-fake stories and people will automatically think it's all true.

There is some lack of self-awareness involved. If papers like WaPo didn't resort to unfair and biased journalism, there would be little fake news to begin with.

The rise in yellow journalism is a direct result of their unethical journalism. They alienated readers who then had little place to go for reporting.

"The lady doth protest too much, methinks."

And the MSM is delusional if they think their sensational and divisive reporting has not led to real life tragedy.

Prophetic words there Xue, can see it coming.
It seems they are already on point with the election
narrative, now Obama calling for a full review.

It seems so obvious, but there is about slightly
less than half the population that will buy into it.

It would certainly make the top 10, imo.

Interestingly enough there are CIA connections
deep into 9/11.

What is indicative of a lasting "story" - "Fake News" already
has a Wikipedia page, and is full of citations of "worthy" news
sources citing anonymous sources claiming that Russians
have interfered with the 2016 election.

en.wikipedia.org...

Beyond suspicious!

No mention of Correct The Record and Media Matters though!
