I've not seen the following highlighted anywhere, but seem's pretty convincing to me:
The rural vote won out against the urban.

Awwww! Red text! Ironically, you posted "fake news" that can easily be debunked.

Clinton won 13 counties in Alabama, 4 in Arizona, 23 in Colorado, 9 in Florida and 27 counties in Texas. Oh I can stop counting now because that's already 76. She won over 30 in California, 8 in Michigan — what's that bring us to?

More than double what your "fake news" graphic shows?

In just 7 states out of 50 states and DC?

Care to explain why you keep pushing disinformation?

Interesting, I won't use that again.....doesn't matter you still lost.
And you are fighting a losing battle on ATS, perhaps you should start posting to a site that is more supportive of your world view.

It's quite simple. We are so predictable.

We did it with Obama and now did it with Trump.

We would always prefer a fresh faced liar to an old proven con artist.

Trump won because no one wanted the lying neocon globalist that the dems ran as their candidate. People are sick of being told that globalization and multiculturalism is good when they can see with their own eyes that its not. The cat is out of the bag and I pray that every country does this, and we start the steps to break apart the NWO and go after and prosecute the people who have been behind it with NO mercy. I will take republicans who at least are loyal to the country over a democratic party that is simply pandering to the forces pushing sending our jobs overseas and flooding our country with illegals as a form of genocide against us. Sorry but given the actions of the Dems the past few years I no longer trust them at all.

Personally, I'd say Trump won because he lied.

He catered to every audience telling them what they wanted to hear.

Even though he actually said nothing - - - they believed him because they wanted to.

Actually Trump mastered the art of the hyperbolic statement with great success, Hillary tried and failed miserably.
It actually backfired in political capital every time she tried it.
Trump beat her so bad in this area of the election, it made the liberal pundits lose their minds, especially on election night.

Trump is just smarter than dumb old Hillary. Given all the talk about how intelligent she was, it was interesting to find out during the election cycle that she is as dumb as a rock. The only reason she ever got to run for office is because she married Bill Clinton.

Most humans have an in-built BS detector as well as an innate ability to detect deceitful pieces of sh!t from a mile away.

This is why Clinton lost on an epic scale, dodgy Clinton is dodgy and folks don't like dodgy.

How Trump won and Hillary lost.

After looking back at the campaign here is the best guess that I can put together:

Trump won, due to the following: Fear, lies and someone willing to not tell the whole truth to the public. He played on the fears and concerns of the people, and it resonated with the very people who voted for him, as they bought it hook, line and sinker.

The other reason why he won, is that he got free publicity. Every time something obnoxious came out of his mouth, all of the news organizations would report on it, non stop, while shutting out all of the other candidates. With that much free publicity, and the politics of fear, he was going to get a big chunk of the vote. Add in deliberate voter suppression in some states, and it would start to sway the election in one direction or another.

While Clinton, according to most fact checkers, was proven to be telling the truth, did the one thing that she should not have, and that was not simply join forces with her opponent, Sanders. If they were to have run on one ticket, it would have been a far different election, and there would have been a good chance that they may have won.

However, there is the aspect of false news reports, coming out of eastern Europe, combined with that of Russia and Wikileaks. One must wonder what is in it for say Julian Assange as to why he would want the Republicans in office. Combined with the ties between Trump and Putin, that all seems to have ignored.

I am not a specialist in foreign countries, however, when it comes to Russia, anything that brings attention to that country, like say a pageant or real estate, would have Putin’s attention, if not his direct approval, combined with say Ivanka having a vacation along with Putin’s girlfriend, kind of makes one wonder.

How many times are we going to see that picture? What do you think it shows exactly? I'm just curious. I know what the appeal in the image is because "omg look at the red!" but it only takes 1 vote over a half of all votes to flip the color of a county. Do you imagine that all of those places are devoid of folks who voted for Clinton?

Keep showing that picture though! Can't get enough of that thing! Here's one that I'm going to post every time I see it:

That's not perfect either but it's a closer representation of the make up of the vote.

Keep postin it! It changes nothing, and only shows what we've been saying. 4 or 5 states do NOT get to dictate their will on the rest of the country.

We are the United STATES of America. We are not a Democracy. We are a Representative Republic. We do NOT have national elections. We have State level elections, with only one being a national issue and that's the Presidency.

Mob rule will NEVER happen, and be glad of it, one day it could turn against you.

The system worked as intended, and it's not in the slightest bit unfair, Obama won twice. Clinton won twice, Carter won..... the list goes on.

Want the Democrats to win? Walk away from the socialistic tendencies, pick up where you left off supporting the Middle Class, and oh yeah....GET A BETTER CANDIDATE.

Beating Trump should have been easy. But they insisted on running the one they promised office to.

Man I love that picture...I hope it gets posted a million times...

One little picture shows exactly why the Electoral College exists ..it may not be perfect, but it is a helluva lot better than going with the popular vote alone.

Very strange someone would use a picture as a validity source for their bias when the picture clearly shows no one at all voted in Alaska...makes me wonder about the data used for all those blue dots when a whole damn state is missing.

That's by population...

The electoral college is specifically designed to prevent those big blue dots from controlling the little red dots.

So all you've done is validated that the electoral college is working, and that it is the STATES that have equalized voting, not the population.

And the saddest part is that when the fact checkers were checking out her statements, it was shown that she was telling the truth 99% of the time. Every claim she made, every plan was viable and would have helped the country.

Trump on the other hand failed to tell the whole truth, and that will really irritate the public, combined with the fact that the republicans have been wanting to do things that will further harm more and more people. He talks about bringing back jobs, but fails to explain how many of those jobs will be redundant due to the progress of technology, leaving many still without a good paying job. And that as a country how we will end up paying for the mistakes of our leaders. He claimed to want to drain the swamp in DC, to deny lobbiest, yet looking at his adminstration picks, one could say he was putting in the water, and adding more to the federal government.

The primary purpose of the electoral college was to head off the threat of a populist tyrant. Allocating additional power to low-populace states was desirable but not as important. I hope that they honor their most important responsibility.
