If someone were asked "Do you think a group of Satanists exert an undue control over the world", they would say that was absurd - and they'd be
right. It is so hard to find any basis from the realities of our day to day system to see a deeper, darker current emerging within the whole. These
people will tell us "nothing is there", and they'd be right, because from our "common sense" understanding, we try not to think about the evil
that might be - and they'd be right. Perspective is everything, and all Humans incline towards relaxing their understandings towards viewpoints that
support good feelings. Any viewpoints - indeed, the world we live within is a viewpoint factory - truth with falsehood - and the only way to overcome
falsehood - education and a diligent and disciplined commitment to self-improvement - is not available for the 9 to 5 types - people who have no
choice but to trust the world - and so experience a sense of goodness in their lives - or, distrust the world. Which would you choose?
This thing I'm doing - what I just did in the above paragraph, entailed a lot of "analyzing the behavior of my mind". Theorizing, indeed, about the
way the human brain instinctively "theorizes" - or makes meaning, in terms of dynamical processes of energy arriving from social evocations - how
others affect us and how the affects generate conflicts. Conflict seeks resolution, and so the narration of the speaking environnment - other people
who engage or attract our attention - comes in, pouring within the fibres of the brain the flow and logic of the stories - its implicit and explicit
impacts on the preexisting state of the system. "Noise" - irrelevant information - out; Meaning? Whatever is already relevant to the structure,
comes in.
In reading Tim Wu's new book "The Attention Merchants", I've come to almost admire the clinical precision of the putative diabolical goons that
are said to control this world.
Commerce. Capitalism. Business. Banking. Entrepreneurship. It's quite amazing how these innocent sounding enough terms, when brought together,
facillitate the movement of a society straight into a strange combination of Orwells 1984 and Huxleys Brave New World. Look at your world and life
right now - is it not involuntarily suffused with corporate images? Have you not be shaped and structured - involuntarily - to in some carry the mark
of the corporate beast?
For instance, Wu describes a story of a school in twin rivers California that accepted corporate advertising in its hallways, its classrooms, and even
on test papers and the morning announcements in exchange for $500,000 dollars a year. Why on earth would a school agree to this? They needed the money
- the towns coffers are insufficient to maintain basic school materials. And so we see a larger scale pattern emerging: corporations buy elections,
buy politicians, so that public schools are insufficiently funded by the government; school suffers from poor maintenance and chronic need, and in
rushes in what Wu calls "the attention merchants". A seemingly innocent group of characters that make out a businessopportunity: can you
blame them for capitalizingon it? They're entrepreneurial spirit is good for commerce and capitalism.
Wu bemoans how little of life remains truly private and outside the claws of private businesses that buy off politicians to avoid regulation. They do
this so well by demonizing government and promoting a "libertarian" ideology - as if government doesn't first imply "the ability to govern" - and
so render private corporate powers into an unelected government. There's a complete and total artistry - of course, completely satanic - in this
movement between creating needs and offering solutions that promote private enrichment - the demonization of government, the demonization of socialism
- and yet, look at this: the corporations are already in schools - so can you imagine how much more terrifying this is going to become in the Trump
administration?
Imagine, for a second, what Betsy Devos, wife of Amway billionaire - and pioneer in shamelessly exploiting a pyramidal scheme construct - Dick Devos,
who btw is also the sister of Eric Prince - the founder of the private mercenaries-for-hire firm Blackwater - when she assumes her office as secretary
of education. How does she intend to help "fund schools"? Will it entail the attention-merchants? Will she claim that its good for the schools, good
for the kids, and good for the country?
Whether or not frogs wait in a heating pan until being boiled to death - it seems to be the case that human beings don't notice when corporations are
at the doorsteps on the very edge of getting access to influencing the opinions of human minds - and to what end? Already, autism is emerging - and
many believe it is being mediate by a combination of too much stress, too much dissociation/manipulation of others/egotism, with a probable
relationship to environmental toxins in our foods, our water, and our medicines. In short - our mind and body's are stressed, through this stress, a
new "phenotype" is emerging: autism.
Autism is literally a condition of not being able to metabolize the social-evocations of others. It's "too much", and too much because dissociation
- not acknowledging the intrinsic vulnerability in being human - is shaping more and more human mind-brains so that only some information gets in -
and all the bad stuff, how others can make you feel and how you ignore it, or act in a way that only impliictly acknowledges a negative reaction - is
"too much" for the developing infants brain - already made vulnerable by parental dysfunctions and the distractions of 21st century living - so that
it inclines towards a different "attractor": a chronic dissociation of the affectivity of others, and so, an almost complete focus on impersonal and
"objective" things.
Could you imagine a more desirous slave than this? Evidently, satan works gradually - pushing people towards materialism to the point that their
materialism begins to reshape their brains - creating mind-brains that are too rickety to metabolize the dissociative impulsiveness of adult behavior.
Everyone deserves to be scared by this.
