Either way, the only positive thing about "fake news" is that one would hopefully be more cautious and inquisitive in discerning the validity of claims that are made. This thread can be added to the pile with the rest of the rubbish. The unwillingness to do a few seconds of fact checking and looking up on alternative sources are astonishing. And frankly disheartening.

Because of sources the entire story must be taken with a huge grain of salt, however, both Aldrin and Kerry there recently is very curious.

Yes, a lot of it seems like smoke, and though folks around here are fond of trite euphemisms like: " if there's smoke there's fire," dry ice creates smoke without any fire at all, and supposed "logic" tests like Occam's Razor where the simplest explanation is the most likely, even though circumstances are anything but simple, these days....

On the other hand, I found this years ago, and wondered about its implications vis a vis "magnetic pole shift," or a certain work of fiction called "The Mountains of Madness," or even the Piri Ris map.....LINK The Cassini Effect

A friend of mine has just come back from Antarctica (repairing generators and switchgear) and had a hard time with altitude induced breathing problems and the extreme dryness of the air. He said that most first timers to Antarctica stay in bed for 24 to 48 hours after arriving because they are so wrecked by the conditions.

Buzz Aldrin was airlifted out due to breathing and lung problems (fluid in the lungs) and has now recovered and left the Christchurch hospital.

With all the other innaccuracies on this one, mentioned in the comments and the fact that it looks like a fake news site, I'd call fake on this whole story.

Aldrin was also airlifted from McMurdo and had visited the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station (an over land trek through the White Desert), which my friend also did. No mention of Princess Elizabeth station which is on the opposite side of the Antarctic continent, 3,200 km away.

I only checked with fakenewswatch.com and it didn't come up in the lists. Should have researched further.

fake news will always exist as long as there are the 'gullibles' whom believe in it.

there are as many societies are there are people to populate them.
