Remains of Martian Civilization, another pictures from Mars that indicates something that once where
And that something sure looks like a city devastated by perhaps a war or nature itself, perhaps a combination.

Overlooked by NASA, or are they slowly leaking what they have known the whole time.

Latitude / Lontitude 82°50'57.57"N 115°11'19.98"E

Could have looked like this perhaps.. with tubes and cone shaped buildings

I don't know if ruined city or alienish pods...
Whatever they are it sure is interesting and very alien.

It all looks like natural occurrences too me. I mean where the artist rendering of this area came up with those pictures is beyond me. Of coarse I would like to see something, but I don't.

Just like looking at clouds, you can often see objects in them, if you use your imagination.

Especially with really dreamy background music.

When looking at high-resolution images of the area, the features turn out to be dark-colored dunes:

Yep. and the images are also available for view in Google Mars, the same place the video supposedly looked. Makes you wonder about honesty of people.

Those dunes are really neat. It goes to show that low res images leave a lot to the imagination so it's always good to look at them with a skeptical attitude until there are better pics.

Anything is possible out there.

I'm always hoping to find something unusual in those images, so I try to at least have a detailed look to make sure we didn't overlook any potential anomaly. Whatever it turns to be, I'm happy to share the result.

Perhaps the next Mars thread will confront us with something we can't dismiss so easily ... let's keep looking!

Looks like they had roaches. Not surprised. Filthy martians.

So giant shelled Martian insects can roll over and disguise themselves as sand dunes when they get too hot? Very clever and pretty cool.

imagine that, sneaky martian bastards disguising their dwellings as sand dunes.

Thanks pretty cool looking nonetheless. Actually more interesting detail than the images shared. Not to dismiss the OP either.

Do you happen to have some high res of that area ?

Unfortunately not, the satellite overlay they zoom in on is the only HiRISE footprint available for that area. So this one is open to speculation. The circular arrangement is about 13 meters in diameter.

My best guess would be that it's the rocky terrain shining through the sand that covers the area. I admit that the slabs look somewhat out-of-place, but they also don't really look like parts of an artificial structure.

I could be wrong of course, but those are my first thoughts concerning this formation ...
