ATS is no longer on the list of Russian propaganda outlets

I've been an active member on ATS for a good 5+ years, and I "lurked" even longer than that... I must say, Sandyhook was the first censored topic I ever saw here, and then Pizzagate seemed to go to an extreme level of censorship... Like everything being funneled to one thread??? Makes little sense to me.... But it does seem the site is scared of outside pressure and has made some concessions along the way... I wish it wasn't this way, but ATS is a business and I guess they need to protect their "product", which is ATS...

To be fair , in all probability they perhaps made up the part about "conversations with outlet operators" ...

I'm with Iknowstuff. I thought being on that list was pretty good PR in this "up is down" media climate.

I think this has to do with restricting all the members here from posting threads about Pizza gate. Conveniently soon after they ban that topic, now they get removed from the Russian propaganda list.

I guess PC won again since only PC conspiracy theories are allowed on ATS now. ATS staff got strong-armed on how to run their own damn site. Kind of pathetic and weak if you ask me.

Make sure you start a thread in Board Business & Questions making sure your new conspiracy theories are PC enough for ATS in the future. Now the liberals can always come here for a safe place.

Its almost like whatever outside influence/pressure ATS is feeling has them funneling all this pizzagate chatter into one thread so it can easily be monitored by ATS (and whatever alphabet agencies we know lurks/shills here)...

If and when Federal and / or State Law Enforcement produce some factual information on this subject, you can bet there will be many threads of discussion.

Come now. You and I both know that when people refer to "the establishment," they are not referring to the Constitution. They are referring to an elite or oligarchy that seems to control media, politicians, the military, etc.

Second, all manners of controversial and possibly slanderous topics are discussed on here. It's a conspiracy site.. There is no reason that one should be singled out. If slander or defamation was really a concern, or a lack of concrete evidence, a majority of threads on here would pose a problem...

Why are "the government and Bush did 911" threads allowed, true or not, but not the currently banned topic? I'd argue that the former is just as slanderous or worse..

If ATS was listed as Russian Propaganda, then please tell me what we should call sites like the NY Times, that are blatantly a propaganda medium for the "establishment"???

According to the waybackmachine, ATS was removed from the list on November 30. IOW, ATS was listed on the November 29th captures, but removed on the December 1st capture.

So, perhaps it doesn't have anything to do with PG...

Rather more important than the business, at least on the eyes of the user base, is the community that ATS has at its core. Without ATS the website, ATS as a body of people loses cohesion and congregation space. The community and the space it operates in are worth protecting the continuity of.

This place has been a resource for alternative thought for a long time by regular standards, and a bloody AGE by the standards of the internet. I can well understand why those in control of the site would wish to see that community and that resource protected. I certainly want it protected. If that means coming up with better ways to mitigate hack attempts, DDoS attacks and so on, OR legal challenges which might be ranged against it, then that is what it means.

Would I rather find anyone who threatens the long term survival of this website, and batter them into a smear against the pavement with a solid steel ingot? You bet I would. Is that a practical and effective solution? No.

Vlad has a HUGE Dacha.

If you have even the slightest reading comprehension abilities you can clearly see that we were added to that "list" (compiled by anonymous "experts" who still won't identify themselves) and removed from the said "list" prior to any staff action regarding "pizzagate." As stated very publicly the conversation with said "experts" was that we were keeping all options on the table.

Anyone who can't deal in the simple linear flow of time and events should probably take some time and reevaluate their priorities.

This thread it closed because I think we've had enough insults directed at our staff. This # is getting old.
