Give him a chance to prove his worth instead of assuming that you know how well he will do the job.

What could go wrong?! (Flint Michigan!)

No. This isn't an internship! I wouldn't give a contractor or an engineer "a chance" to do oral surgery on me! Why should we give anyone with no experience "a chance" to head up a US Government agency, affect American lives for god knows how long, when there are plenty of experienced people who have demonstrated their passion and capabilities?

People are so hypocritical. Obama had zero experience to qualify him as Commander in Chief or POTUS. He only showed up in congress most of the time to say "present" instead of voting yay or nay. People in positions like that surround themselves with advisers and lawyers that know all the details. Do you think the HUD Secretary isn't going to have career department heads and government lawyers to consult about anything he has a question on?

I can just about guarantee a former brain surgeon isn't going to be cavalier and run around using his pen and phone to bypass congress and act like a dictator. The left has dug themselves a huge hole after all the hypocritical BS after what we just saw the last 8 years with people like Obama, Clinton, and Pelosi with her brain dead comment that, "We have to pass it to see what is in it". Talk about some unqualified people ruining people's lives. All you have to do is look at all the people that have insurance cost more than their mortgage now along with deductibles that effectively means you won't get your insurance to pay for anything beyond a major incident. And it is affecting the very people that need it because they work to support their family if they get injured or sick.

I think Pelosi need to consult with Carson to see if he can answer her question about what happened to her stunted brain the size of a walnut.

This is deflection. Trump has zero experience to qualify him for Commander and Chief. Obama has a Constitutional Law degree while Trump doesn't even know what the Constitution says, and needs to be tutored. Obama surrounded himself with experienced and proven people. Trump promised to surround himself with the "best and brightest" in their prospective fields, but he's appointing his cronies instead. Obama was a Senator, Trump bragged about buying Senators.

Carson has never served as an elected or an appointed government official, never ran a bureaucracy and has zero experience in housing and urban development. His appointment shows Trump's lack of understanding and respect for the office itself. His "team" keeps insinuating that crime and education are inner city priorities, and Ben Carson will be great in that arena, except that HUD has nothing to do with education or crime deterrence!

You never did suggest a HUD alternative. Maybe Ben is to be an inspirational role model. He sure beats Gangsta Rappers spouting misogynistic doggerel.

Historically, many Presidential appointments were less than satisfactory. I remember a SECDEF named McNamara who got a lot of people killed and wounded. His Navy ships were famous as he saved money and had them designed for peacetime operations. They couldn't get out of their own way.
More than one Energy Secretary was just a hack lawyer and had little knowledge of Energy.

All you have to do to run the show is to get yourself elected as President and put your person in, whomever that may be.

More deflection. We should learn from our past. We should demand the best and the brightest in their fields.

We don't need an inspirational role model in the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, we need an experienced bureaucratic leader. What Gangsta Rapper is heading up a DC agency? Misogynistic doggerel? Oh, now you're talking about Donald Trump!

"Learn from our past"..."best and brightest".... an original turn of phrase; you should go into speech writing.

Loretta Lynch is a gangsta but maybe her collusion with Bill is just a bad rap. President Obama had some role model Gangsta Rappers at the White House. One was Jay-Z who brings a new level of misogynistic doggerel to help our youth aspire to new levels of depravity. Hillary used Jay-Z as a draw to one of her rallies and then ironically griped about Trump's comments about women.

You don't like those words? Too bad, those are Trump's words/promises. You're complaining about entertainers that have been invited to the White House, but you don't care about the misogynist, reality star con man trying to convince you now that experience doesn't matter when it comes to his Cabinet. So much for "the best and the brightest". So much for "America First". It's Trump and company first from now on.

I thought that those phrases originated with you. You're as smart as Trump.

I care that our President gave the "entertainers" a voice from the White House as though they had something positive to offer the youth of our nation. I guess I could complain about corruption in the DNC from top to bottom or corruption in the DOJ starting with the AG but I am not one for whining. I could also complain about the President lying as per the Podesta emails, but that wouldn't do any good either. Starting in 2008, it was Obama and company first and we survived.

In this election, the voters were put in a position of choosing the lesser evil and chose Trump. Both parties lack focused leadership. The DNC also seems to lack integrity. Both parties live in their own alternate realities and both have abandoned the common man. The rural areas despise Hillary and went with Trump because alternate parties ran dolts on their tickets.

We will have to adapt to the Donald as he learns the Presidency.

More deflection. This isn't about any of that. It's about Donald Trump going back on his promise to surround himself with the best and the brightest in their field, when it comes to his cabinet. So far, he shown that his cronies come before "the best and the brightest", and before his "America First" promise. His appointment of Ben Carson to HUD, after he turned down Health and Human Services, proves it.

It doesn't prove anything. Are you the only judge of "best and brightest?" Maybe he thinks so highly of Ben that he wants him in his cabinet.
