So, it is nearly 2017 and we’ve had a ball over on the Acronym Game Thread 2
while. I think we can use a spruce up of the old noggin and try to do some lateral thinking and get those juices flowing.
Lateral thinking is solving problems through an indirect and creative approach, using reasoning that is not immediately obvious and involving
ideas that may not be obtainable by using only traditional step-by-step logic. The term was coined in 1967 by Edward de Bono
And hey, there is our first clue! Edward de (Bono) (as in the dude who is full of himself of U2 fame). In this game we are going use a famous
and a band name
together (in whatever order you would like). There has to be a link between the two. Here, I will give you an
example on how it works.
, from the Grand Ole Opry, you know, the hat with the tag, comedian? Always wears a dress. Immortalized by the Dead Milkmen in
their song, Punk Rock Girl
you know, “We can dress like Minnie Pearl, eat fudge banana swirl, just you and me punk rock girl…
And the band, Pearl Jam
, you know, those Seattle guys in ripped jeans, flannel shirts, and Even Flow fame. You know who they are.
So you combine them together
Minnie Pearl + Pearl Jam now becomes…
Minnie (Pearl) Jam
You can do band names, but they have to be in threes. And make me laugh!
Like this: Backstreet (Boys) II (Men) Without Hats.
Sometimes they do not hit you at first! So, one a day will the self-imposed limit to give others a chance to reply!
Can you come up with a good lateral thinking one?
