T-MINUS

It was 12 hours before launch. The world watched with envy as the crew waved off the ship that would become the object of scorn and awe for generations to come.

The ISS Achoron was prepping engines and humming away, drowning out the echoes of protesting masses at the gates to the tall compound.

It was the final straw to some, beligerant in their sense of injustice. Earths first interplanetary colony ship was a VIP boat. The problem beyond the issues with access for everyone on earth was that the selection process had been governed by one person. A single mind and consciousness deciding the fate of everyone alive now and yet to be.

Master Commander Sergei Alexandroff Volkonsky. The allied supreme commander of the Pan Asian Pacific Union. A mysterious man who spoke little but moved worlds with a whisper. The victor against the world, or at least the last one standing after the event.

....

Master Commander Sergei was a man with pale white skin, blonde hair, and eyes as cold blue as a clear winters day.

The desperate banging and commotion outside the capsule was interrupted by a young woman who threw herself before the Commandant's pedestal. Tears streamed from her fawn-like eyes, which were sad, and green, like the once proud forests.
"Please father", she cried out from her cherry-red lips, her bosom heaving in sorrow. "Have mercy, let more live! Let, at least let him live, please! I beg you."
But Sergei's icy glare knew no mercy.
"Medics, remove this creature who calls herself my daughter to a cell immediately. Now ... we must depart!"

As she is dragged from the bridge, she screams a curse for all aboard the ship that they may wander in space until they all die.

Sergei relaxed, and motioned to his guards that he intended to sit.
His body was hurt and bruised from battle.
He came to this primitive planet, to search for his daughter and had unwittingly released a virus.

He was still deciding whether he cared that a whole related species of sub-humans on this plant was at risk of dying.

All he wanted was his daughter back.

Was it all like spraying ants with insecticide?
Half the Earthlings were now ravenous beasts with drool dripping from their lips.
The uninfected were fleeing.

Had he misunderstood these animals?

Could his daughter really be in love with one?

But then came the news that would turn his vexed countenance to complete despair.

A soldier stood before him, and struggled to keep his composure: "Sir, we can't leave. The anti-gravity batteries are too low!"

Sergei took another drink.
"How long before they get in?"
The computer calculated a while, and spat out: "Our material is made for intergalactic travel. It is not made for tearing or beating on primitive planets. The approximate time of the first foreign entry is 20 minutes".
His heart began to race ...

Sergei himself understood that he had never felt an attraction to the "lower planets".
Then he remembered what it was like being young, although he was in his prime after 2000 years.

His daughter had been celebrating a friend's birthday after 575 years of puberty,
After much tequila they decided to fly to Earth.
Common, let's see what those animals are like.

She had transgressed and stolen his capsule that night.
He punished her, and grounded her.

But since the first trip she always insisted on going back.
She would steal his rockets and flying saucers.
But then she didn't come back for weeks, and those animals must have kidnapped her.

And he had such high hopes for her.
Her position as the head ironer, vacuumer and stain remover of the alliance was virtually assured.

Why would she throw this all away for an Earthling?

Sergei's mind boggled.

But then the ripping sounds drew him back to reality, and he needed to position his men strategically.
