Ironically, the vehicle carrying Fidel Castro's body broke down during a procession.

They had to push the thing through till the end.

You would think somebody checked the vehicle before going !!

Of course, the jeep is made in Russia !!!

So much Russian influences these days.

AWESOME! Jeep Carrying Castro’s Body Breaks Down – Has To Be Pushed Through Procession

The Russian-made jeep ferrying the ashes of Cuban dictator Fidel Castro broke down and needed to be pushed on Saturday en route to the late leader’s final resting place.

The breakdown of the jeep in the midst of adoring crowds chanting “Long live Fidel!” was symbolic of the dual nature of Castro’s Cuba. While his legacy inspires fierce adulation by many of the nation’s citizens, others continue to grumble about Cuba’s autocratic government, inefficient bureaucracy and stagnant economy.

Castro placed a band on foreign vehicle imports, so this is fitting.

Nope. Gonna have to ask you to type more than your usual 4 words and an emoticon. There is no irony in the story.

Putting things into context, "Jeep" is a trade name, not a generic term. Just goes to show (once more) that the media doesn't do any work when reporting. They simply read a tweet or two and copy it.

There certainly is irony in this - a lot of it! It's the best the national government could provide for transportation. They would have been better off pulling the coffin with a '57 Chevy instead of some Soviet clunker. At least the Chevys are maintained.

To be honest if they were going to bury his ashes at sea,may as well used the 1st open toilet, not even an outdated soviet army vehicle could stomach him another second
