In November 375, Valentinian I concluded a peace treaty with the Alamanni in Germany, then marched into Illyrium to repel an invasion of the Quadi and the Sarmatians on the Danube frontier. On 17 November 375, while negotiating with the Quadi, Valentinian, age 54, became so enraged that he died in a fit of apoplexy at Brigetio (Hungary). Extreme cruelty marked his 11-year reign but he founded schools and provided physicians to serve the poor of Constantinople.

So some have said don't clean it. I think it's really cool, and I actually have a coin collection and it's joining it. I won't be selling it, so with that said, what is the recommendation on cleaning it?

Yes agreed. It's a great find.

I've got a metal detector and it trumps my best find so far... A genuine sump plug circa 1990. Or maybe the 1000th ring pull, that was memorable.

If your into coins the Red Book is a great start it has many with value listings...
Nice find take to to a certified dealer and have him tell you what it's worth.
