If true, this is beyond awful...

What is wrong with people????

I can't even imagine the hate that would drive somebody to do this.

Depraved animals. Period.

You can't?

We've seen this exact hate expressed right here on ATS since election night, when the results began to point at a Trump win.

Even typing those two words is irritating to me...but never to the point that I'd even pretend to contemplate doing something of this nature. This is dark stuff.

Seems the police think this is legit.

You seem to be ignoring other details of this story.

I know. I know.

A part of me demands to be in denial.

When I see such vitriol posted on these boards, I can't help but give people the benefit of the doubt and assume they are not really that way in RL.

I guess fundamentally I'm choosing to be naive. The alternative is terrifying....and very depressing.

I understand completely.

Maybe I have a selective memory, but I don't recall this level of vitriol when Obama was elected. There was too much, and lasted far too long, and the vast majority of it was, to put it mildly, pure unadulterated crap.

I don't recall hearing about people being burned out, or attacked on the streets--or in my case, threatened while buying a gallon of milk at the store.

That was my first thought exactly.

And people laugh at me when I say we're at war.

Cowardly losers who do things like this deserve a bullet.

I sympathize with the veteran in the OP, because not too long ago my home was broken into and vandalized while I was at work. Whoever did it didn't take anything, just busted holes in the walls and destroyed my cabinets. I consider myself lucky that my wife and kids weren't home when it happened.

I find it slightly ironic that both myself and the man from the OP are navy veterans.

I hope the people that did that to that man are caught and brought to justice.

You are nicer then I am. First thing I would do is nail their testies to a tree stump and tip them over backwards. That's just for starters.

You'll never lose that, and that's a good thing.

This story really pisses me off...

Yup...often times, a bullet is too quick and painless (depending on aim, of course).
