Who seriously in their right mind would be offended by "Merry Christmas"?

Why the H would you say merry Christmas to a stranger when its not even Christmas and they're (most likely) not Christian! Christmas is one day, ONE DAY! It's like saying happy birthday randomly to people or a month early to a friend it makes no sense!

Saying happy holidays means enjoy your time off work, enjoy the company of friends and family, enjoy a nice feast, and it applies to everyone.
Merry Christmas means enjoy one day that's supposed to be about Jesus but has lost all meaning, enjoy Coca-Cola, enjoy church and if you're not Christian FO!

Anyhow, Jesus was born (if at all) around springtime. The festival you are celebrating for christmas is a pagan holiday (yule). So..happy pagen winter holiday..call it what you want.

Happy Santa Day (given most aren't hardcore christians, the season isn't about Jesus anyhow..its about a tree, lights, presents, drunk uncle larry spilling the bowl of eggnog all over the rug, awkward silences from your parents as your teen daughter introduces Raoul her boyfriend. Nana passing gas over turkey and blaming the dog, slipper socks from your aunt judy to the kids that make them cry as you force them to give her a kiss on the cheek and say thank you, etc
