Excellent interview from a few days ago, he touches on the disappointment that is Obama and a few other points, but I was most interested in the part towards the end from 12:45sec into the video (my transcript)...

"As it relates to Hillary Clinton, she was never part of the investigation, we're not going after Hillary Clinton, but she did create one of the biggest security breaches in the history of the state department & I would be totally remiss to just walk away from it, of course we are going to continue our investigation, whether or not she's the president shouldn't matter we're supposed to treat this the same, and I will, and I will pursue it. Until we get to the truth, just like we had to on Benghazi, but just like we're going to do here, we're going to continue to pursue it until we get the truth. There's an open investigation at the State Department, there's an open investigation at the oversight committee that I chair and I will continue to pursue that until I figure it out because it's a security breach at the highest level - classified information - we've gotta fix it"

I agree, the investigation should continue until the HOGR is satisfied that no further security breaches will occur by determining the exact extent of the consequential effect resultant from Hillary Clintons dodgy bastardized double-trouble server system. So, unless he becomes directly involved, it appears that Trump will just allow Chaffetz and Gowdy to do their thing, which would be awesome.

Thoughts?

Just curious, how does a resident of Australia come to their own conclusion on what is best for the United States? I can understand surveillance issues considering you are one of the Five Eyes.

Pardon my ignorance, but if Hillary burned at the stake tomorrow, how would that make your life any better? Please elaborate, but know that I mostly agree with your sentiments.

It's an opinion, and the OP is looking for discussion on it. ATS is an international family, and even American issues are going to get an international response. Last thing we need is an echo chamber.
And it's all been very compelling to see it unfold.

I spend approx 2-3 months every year in the US, my employer is based in Houston with operational office in New Orleans. I have long considered immigrating as I (and my wife) have many close friends there. I have a genuine passion for US history and culture and it's therefore personally important to me that I see the upholding of the laws and Constitution as I believe in what the US stands for - freedom and liberty for all.

Hey did somebody say "burn her at the stake" ??.....I'm up for some medieval justice
Hell, we could fill the super dome with the criminal cabal and do a special 2016 Election Purge Games !!!!
Let's give the Lefty's something real and tangible to be afraid about.
Maybe it's about time "WE THE PUBLIC" do a little false flag of our own

The GOP has been investigating the Clinton's since I was a kid. I don't find this particularly surprising. The Clintons didn't draw lines between their charity and HRC's office. HRC mishandled classified information. She had her maid pull docs off a fax.

Clearly people are fed up with this kind of crap.

That's why we elected a guy who doesn't intend to put up any barriers at all between his global business and the office of President, who has kids meeting with heads of states with him, their husbands running his transition and supporters falling over themselves to forgive Petraeus for sharing classified information with a woman he was screwing around on his wife with — exactly the sort of behavior that has led to more spilled secrets throughout history than any other.

My prediction? After Trump causes enough trouble, the GOP will take up investigating Trump.

I think Trump has so far been smart in saying he would back off of personally directing someone to investigate the Clinton cabal simply because their are so many on going investigations. If one of the investigations has reason to prosecute HRC and follows through with the case.... HRC is found guilty with the possibility of prison.. I just hope he does not pardon her... My bet would be he would not .... or better not.. !

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Chaffetz and Gowdy. I do believe that Trump will stay out of their way. When Trump first back tracked I was hoping it was only to let them finish what they had begun without him getting involved.

We slather American politics all over ATS and then say if you aren't American you can't have an opinion? Come on now, that's just rude! Listen listen listen....but don't give me your opinion. Often those from the outside can see even better than we can.

What? Watchin wrasslin' ain't doin it for you no more? Haven't they found a replacement for Trump on The Apprentice yet? I'm sure the unwashed minority that delusionally thinks of itself as "real America" will find something else on basic cable to drool at. No need to leave the single-wides.

Well, that solves that part of the mystery.

Whatever you do, don't come to Connecticut. I get blue balls just thinking about our current governor and the "legacy" that he has left behind. Red, blue, purple, somebody please save us.

Unrelated to your stance, I find our relationship quite unique with Australia.

We've already taken some pretty dangerous steps in this country towards the surveillance state, and not that many of us are either interested or aware that it's going on, including people like me who should know better... Our friend and ally the United States is transitioning quite rapidly into an authoritarian state.

Just like most locales, the stay is what you make of it. Are you basing your opinion on the few months that you spend here or does your company base their earning projections on a more broad, current political climate of the region?

RE:"single-wides"....TEE HEE

I'm allowed. I grew up in the middle of the nowhere in rural Georgia. Half my friends lived in trailers (and were obsessed with wrestling). I'll put my redneck bona fides up against most anyone's on ATS.

I would encourage you to relocate.

There is no other place quite like Texas.

Besides, you know American History than most here.

I don't suppose he could use his office to do something that actually benefits the people of America rather than endless witch hunts like the Benghazi crap.

So "it's a security breach on the highest level" that she caused and yet they aren't going after her. That is a microcosm of everything that is wrong with Govt.
