So this morning I read the "news" as I do every morning.
I get super annoyed most mornings while reading, but, this morning,I wasn't annoyed...I just laughed at the utter idiocy and snottiness of our media and how out of touch they are.

KENSINGTON, P.E.I. — A police department in western Prince Edward Island is threatening to impose the Nickelback treatment on anyone who drinks and drives.

This has got to be the dumbest idea ever and extremely good for the band getting more publicity.

The band has been a huge commercial success, with multiple Juno wins, but is also gleefully maligned by some detractors. It has been the subject of spiteful petitions, protests and a Chicago mayor was once pressured into clarifying he wasn’t a fan. Kroeger told The Canadian Press in a 2014 interview that the critics have actually done the band a favour by heightening the public discussion about the group.

www.ottawasun.com...

If someone was impaired and tossed into a squad car and the authorities played a few of their tunes...I would think they would get more amped up.
Example.

Another

and a great cover of ZZ Top.

Having seen them live against my will....I enjoyed the show and would see them again on my own free will.
TONS of pyro and explosions and flames.

This is not torture for me....it would only make me want to keep partying.

How the hell did Justin Beiber and Celine Dion get a free pass???
THATS torture!!

Well done Canada, you just made people you say you don't like more money.
Nickelback 1 Canada 0

I don't drink, so I don't have to worry about this, but I'll be honest with you. If I were forced to listen to Nickelback, I'd straighten up. IMO, they're pure musical diarrhea, so, yeah, it would work on me. lol

Nickleback is a close second.

Well, bad press is better than no press

It seems like everyone is crapping on Nickelback, the Australian police issued an arrest warrant against the band because of "crimes against music".

And than there is this article, A Scientific Explanation for Why Everyone Hates Nickelback.

The article also mentions a study by one Finnish scientist called "Hypocritical Bull# Performed Through Gritted Teeth’: Authenticity Discourses in Nickelback’s Album Reviews in Finnish Media".

Fun stuff!

I like that tune...it is not torture to me.
Nickelback isn't and wasn't one of my favorite bands but I have to admit...they rocked when I saw them and I would actually go see them again without being given free tickets like when I saw them.
Also, the amount of very hot women at their shows is also a deal clincher.

Celine Dion and Justin Beiber would make it a real punishment.

hehe, if the cops really wanted to torture someone, they would play this

A night of that, and they would not want another night of their life again!

I'd rather listen to Rosie O'Donnell cover a Britney Spears song.
BARF.

They might just as well throw a side order of bacon to the mix ...oh the horror ...think of the children ...
If they were really serious I suppose Justin Bieber might be a better choice for the older drinkers

You want to torture someone?

Easy Peasy.

Rosanne Barr, singing the national anthem.
On a loop.

Nickleback? Not so much. Great to get the house cleaned to, if you ask me.

I wonder how that same Government feels about:

That oughta calm em down >.>

ETA: the whole idea is stupid beyond words, and frankly whoever thought of the idea, should be shot...you can tell em a proud firearms owner from the USA says so.

I'd much rather listen to Nickelback, though I'm not a huge fan, but I think your idea could help end DUI, if Rosie wore Britney's clothes and danced around. Not the same design, the same exact clothes, post-concert damp ones.

This might actually stop drunk driving in PEI.

Until you get a ride to the drunk tank where the cops blast Nickelback...

Well, actually, I wouldn't wish that upon my worse enemy.
