my search skills must be lacking today, tried as hard as i could and yet have not found any such warnings. all i did find is russian warnings about shooting down U.S. aircraft. and reports of russian encroaching on U.S. and other NATO vessels and aircraft. links please.

also if that's the case, the U.S warnings have come after how many incidents? the article i posted talked about 5, not counting all other encounters by other countries.

in fact there are more reports of russia doing this type of thing, that should make people very uncomfortable and realize just what kind of game putin is playing.

here is just one from two years ago, and the USS Donald cook took place this year. so that's two years this has been taking place and at least 100 times russia has done this type of thing.

Among high-risk incidents it lists are: the abduction by Russia of an Estonian intelligence agent in September: a mock Russian bombing raid on a heavily populated Danish island; simulated cruise missile attacks by Russian bombers on the US and Canada; Canadian warships locking radar on approaching Russian aircraft in the Black Sea; and a US plane making unauthorised entry into Swedish airspace after being chased by Russian planes.
Close military encounters between Russia and the west ‘at cold war levels’

If we are in the business of denying ignorance and seeking the truth we must ask and get answer to these questions.

Where was the US helicopter when it got a gun pointed at it? Right on or inside the Iranian border?

What was it doing when it had the gun pointed at it?

Did the US helicopter have a much bigger gun on it and was therefore threatening Iran in the first place?

Was the US helicopter engaging in threatening or provocative behavior against Iran?

That's weird.. It took me like 30 seconds to locate the info from different media sources, including Russian. Tell me when was the last time Russia buzzed one of our naval vessels since the Donald Cook and our warning about meeting their dangerous and unprofessional acts with force?

RT - ‘Aggressive simulated attack’: Pentagon decries Russian jets zooming over USS Donald Cook (VIDEO)

........“We have deep concerns about the unsafe and unprofessional Russian flight maneuvers. These actions have the potential to unnecessarily escalate tensions between countries, and could result in a miscalculation or accident that could cause serious injury or death,” the US European Command said in a statement.......

CNN - Kerry: Navy destroyer could have 'shot down' Russian fighter jets

....."It's unprofessional and under the rules of engagement that could have been a shot down, so people need to understand that this is serious business and the United States is not going to be intimidated in high seas," he told CNN en Español.
"We respect our freedom of navigation ... and we are communicating to the Russians how dangerous this is."........

Military - Russian Jets Buzzing American Ships May Be Met by Force, General Says

Russia should be warned that its dangerous flybys of U.S. ships and planes could be met by force, President Barack Obama's nominee as the next NATO and U.S. European Command commander said Thursday.

"Sir, I believe that should be known -- yes," Army Gen. Curtis M. "Mike" Scaparrotti said when asked by Sen. John McCain whether Russia should be told that the U.S. would take action if American lives were endangered.

Pursuing the same line of questioning, Sen. Joe Donnelly, an Indiana Democrat, asked Scaparrotti whether the Russians should be told that "next time it doesn't end well for you."

The general responded that "we should engage them and make clear what's acceptable. Once we make that known, we have to enforce it.

The only acceptable response occurs if its, our helicopter / naval / air forces, IN Iranian territory. Outside of it they are playing with fire.

No they haven't. Stop reading non-sense fake news websites. You are referring to the Su-24/USS Donald Cook fly by in the Black Sea. Nothing was disabled. You fell for a black propaganda made up article.

Sorcha Faal non-sense.

www.whatdoesitmean.com...

You'll be telling me next that 27 of the crew were so demoralized that they requested resignation from the US Navy?

www.veteranstoday.com...

All that took place was flybys of the USS Donald Cook and a scheduled port call in Romania. The conspiracy nuts invented the rest of the story.

no where in any of those articles does it say that U.S. would be weapons free.

in fact all they say is could

These actions have the potential to unnecessarily escalate tensions between countries, and could result in a miscalculation or accident that could cause serious injury or death,

"It's unprofessional and under the rules of engagement that could have been a shot down, so people need to understand that this is serious business and the United States is not going to be intimidated in high seas,

and should

Russia should be warned that its dangerous flybys of U.S. ships and planes could be met by force

nothing in there says that the russians were told that they would be shot down, or as you said it weapons free.

in fact it is well known that the commanders of U.S. ships have a free hand in protecting their crew and ship, and will only fire if the danger is absolutely clear or fired upon.

here from the first article in my first post, a explanation of why the Captain of the USS. Donald Cook didn't shoot them down, and why they might and will shoot one down.

When asked why the Russian plane was not shot down, a senior military official told CNN that "the Russians were dangerous but did not demonstrate hostile intent and were unarmed."

further down,

The U.S. Navy does not publicly discuss its rules of engagement in order to prevent adversaries from using them to their advantage.

But a Navy official told CNN that "every commanding officer of a U.S. Navy ship is empowered to make the decision regarding the self-defense of the ship and its crew."

The official added that in the case of the Cook, "The commanding officer recognized that the flight patterns were unsafe and unprofessional but did not feel threatened and therefore did not engage with tactical weapons."

But close observers say the U.S. shooting down a Russian plane is very unlikely, and very undesirable.

"Those ships are very sophisticated. We can make decisions about whether they live or die from great distances, with great speed, but we don't want to do that unless it's absolutely necessary and it's absolutely supported by our rules of engagement," Hoffman said.

so as i asked where are the links that a direct warning was given that they will be shot down? other than the same talk over and over again.

The Iranians will continue this behavior until we spank them in a bold and decisive manner. They are going to test Trump to see how far they can push him. They only respect absolute power and its' application.

Historically, the Iranians go through this muscle flexing periodically mostly for public consumption. They desperately want to be the big dog in the region mostly to intimidate the Saudis.

A few months ago the Iranian supported Huthies launched anti ship missiles at USN ships and we took out their radar support facilities in Somalia. The Iranians became quiet for a time.

So how does an Su-24 manage to carry a self defense system (relatively low powered at that) that was designed to be carried on the missile rails of a completely different type of aircraft to magically turn off an Aegis Destroyer?

Yeah if it makes you feel good.

If it makes you feel better that you fell for a fabricated story then go for it. Nothing happened apart from conspiracy nuts spinning a story. It is a mindset. Simply some people need to believe. Explain how the USS Donald Cook got "fried" and a portion of its crew "re-signed" on Obama's watch and US Congress didn't raise concern? Such an event wouldn't last five minutes with Republicans gunning for him.

The story is simply black propaganda invented by fantasists. It all generates from the Ukrainian/Crimea crisis with some people desperately needing to create fake news for the black propaganda effect.

There was a similar "electronics fried" story during the Crimea crisis. The claim was that US Army MQ-5 Hunter drones were brought down over Crimea by electronic means.

warsonline.info...

The question is why are people so gullible and naive to fall for such fabrications?

The ROE didn't change. The captain always had the option to fire if they were threatened or fired upon. The fear was that someone was going to push too far, a captain would misinterpret something and fire. The last thing the Pentagon wants is another Iran Air.

BS…

Where was the IranAir flight 655 back in 88 and shot down by the american cowards without a single warning..?

In international arispace…!

And now the same cowards talking about targeting “military to military vessels” is unprofessional..??

You gotta be kidding me…

Cowards!

Yeah that would be because Iranian speed boats engaged a US Helicopter in international airspace. The Vincennes moved to protect their helicopter. If im not mistaken the Iranair 665 flight was in Iranian airspace when it was shot down and was misidentified as an F-14 (which Iran possessed at the time).

Not really sure what the history lesson has to do with what we are talking about though.

and the Russians were warned that further behavior like that would be met with force. Again if im not mistaken Russia has not done a stunt like that since.

History lesson..?

Americans have no business in the Persian Gulf, pack your bag and MOVE back to where you belong! Or else face the consequences of your unwanted presence!

Again, is that too much to ask..?

The officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the incident took place when a Navy MH-60 helicopter flew within half a mile (0.8 km) of two Iranian vessels in international waters.

Take note: "within 0.8 kms & international waters"

Who is doing the provoking? Oh yeah the US as usual....
