Maybe you should the constitution of your own country for yourself. It's not long at all. It'd be like half an hour out of your day to read the complete document. Then maybe you'll stop posting thread after thread of the same nonsense.

I'm not even American and I've read the whole thing in the past, if only out of passing curiosity.

Many think we should abolish the electoral college. I’m not convinced that we should. Properly understood, the electors can serve an important function. What if the people elect a Manchurian candidate? Or a child rapist? What if evidence of massive fraud pervades a close election? It is a useful thing to have a body confirm the results of a democratic election — so long as that body exercises its power reflectively and conservatively. Rarely — if ever — should it veto the people’s choice. And if it does, it needs a very good reason.

Hillary Clinton has so far won the popular vote by over 2.1 million votes and counting. For the electors to choose Trump would be to veto the power of the people.

As stated in the article, "The winner, by far, of the popular vote is the most qualified candidate for president in more than a generation."

So, is there any good reason to veto the people's choice for 2016?

There is not. And indeed, there is an especially good reason for them not to nullify what the people have said — the fundamental principle of one person, one vote. We are all citizens equally. Our votes should count equally. And since nothing in our Constitution compels a decision otherwise, the electors should respect the equal vote by the people by ratifying it on Dec. 19.

It's a point worth repeating. By electing Trump, the electors would be essentially exercising a veto on the American people's vote, violating one of the most important principles governing our democracy- "one person, one vote". So the question is, was the people's choice so far beyond the bounds of reason to warrant such an unprecedented veto of over 2.1 million votes? Or in this case, is it the duty of the electors to uphold the vote of the People, and respect the fundamental value of equal citizenship, by casting their vote for Hillary?

I agree with the conclusion...

"The framers left the electors free to choose. They should exercise that choice by leaving the election as the people decided it: in Clinton’s favor."

So I see the biggest liar on ATS continues but this time, instead of just lying he is suggesting that the will of the people should be ignored, that the established voting process be ignored and the individual who won be ignored because he doesn't like it and his ass is burning because his choice lost.

I think that pretty much sums it up. A liar who is also a cry baby.

You should not just worry about the politics in your own country. That is just stupid. America is the most powerful country in tbe world, and close with the UK. Off course it should be concerning.

As for the rest of your post. You wrote that last time, and backed it up with nothing!

I will give you one of them questions again.

How do you feel about Hillarys campaign being funded by the same people who fund isis.

Its a simple question. Can you answer it this time, or will you ignore it again, like the other questions i posed about hillary.

Erm, I don't approve? I've made that abundantly clear in the past.

I don't like anything about Clinton. I'm very glad she lost.

Reading all these similar posts reminds me of brexit here in the UK with all those who voted to remain trying everything they can to prevent us leaving the EU or to get another vote. Difference I guess is the popular vote here did win. Either way it's pathetic that people go against systems that have been in place for hundreds of years just because it didn't go their way for once. If it was the other way round and trump had the popular vote but Hilary won then I assume those complaining would be saying the electoral collages should elect trump even if they were Hillary supporters? I seriously doubt it! If one day we did end up with a one world government would everyone prefer a system of a vote per country or by popular vote as the latter would basically allow China & India to dictate who was elected. Now would that be fair?

Well said bro.

If Trump had won the popular vote and lost the EC, I would STILL believe the EC should move to vote Hillary.

This says all we need to know about you. Sorry, in real life everyone doesn't get a trophy, get used to it.

Wow, you think of me as the biggest liar on ATS? I consider myself more of an unapologetic truth bringer to the massive right wing misinformation machine-- but still, I take what you said as a big compliment since I know that calling truth out as lies is a common "fake news" tactic... and to be called the "biggest liar". Thank you.

You didn't get a trophy this election, now you're throwing a tantrum because you didn't get one. You'll understand that eventually, or probably not based upon your replies to reality and facts in this thread.

The US is a constitutional republic, not a straight democracy. You can keep ignoring the facts people keep telling you, but that will not change the way the republic works and regardless of what you think i.e. the large cities should rule over the rest of the country will never happen and you will learn the hard way.

I do notice the personal attacks come out in full force on my threads. I consider that a good sign. When there is no defense to the facts, attack the messenger.

Facts are facts. I notice very few are able to attack the facts.

Hillary Clinton is the winner of the popular vote by over 2 million votes. She's it. The people of The United States voted and she won. For her to not become President of the United States, would mean the Electors effectively 'vetoed' the vote of the American people by voting in someone else as President.

Pretty amazing when you add in all the illegals and dead voters that voted illegally for Killary. The left has shown the country why we should never let them win again.

The Bible Belt and Rust Belt - - - - picked this president over the demographic of more intelligent, higher educated, more diverse, more worldly City Dwellers.

International Politics is more prominent then ever.

We aren't "Ma - Pa - the Bible - and the Farm anymore"

Don't count on it not changing.

Someone's a bit salty, and judgemental. Good thing for those redneck uneducated deplorables, or the intelligent, more worldly people like yourself would starve to death pretty fast.

And that right there is why you lost.

Not the bit about the Bible and Rust belts.

The bit where you called everyone who didn't vote Democrat an uneducated idiot.

Your post is essentially a microcosm of the entire Clinton campaign.

I take it you grow all your own food, generate all your own power, and overall do not depend upon ANYTHING coming from those 'less' intelligent, 'lower' educated, 'less' diverse, 'less' worldly people in those locations?

How very arrogant of you to judge people you do not know and have never met. You sound just like your "queen", and is the EXACT reason she lost in this election. Too bad she could not beat a "basket of deplorables". That doesn't say very much for her does it?

If the majority of the country chooses one candidate over another to lead said country but the system chooses the candidate with fewer votes then the system is broken.

The system is not broken it was designed to give equal representation to each state. Simple, Period, End of Story.

The electoral college was created with the specific purpose of not allowing the general populace to elect the president, your vote for president doesn't matter. Most of us don't even get to choose our electors or know how.

It is a Constitutional Republic and not a straight democracy. It is not hard at all to find out how electors are chosen and if people don't know how they are too lazy to use google and find out.

It's an ineffective system just like allowing the senate to be chosen by state legislatures was. It should be changed.

The system is very effective to do as it was supposed to do. If you don't like the way American government works, there are plenty of socialist, straight democracies, or other countries you can move to. I bet you didn't have a problem with how things work when your leftist comrades were in power.

Yes Sir you are right.
If it were down to just the legal AMERICAN voters Trump would have won the popular vote too.
But it will be hard to weed out the illegal votes of the illegal voters.
And all that could be avoided by requiring a voter id.But that would be asking to much.
