I just joined about a week ago, and I wrote an introduction. I'm still trying to get to understand some of this stuff, and how to get around the site.

I keep noticing posts that say, "adopt a newbie", or "please adopt me", or something like that.

What does it mean to be adopted?

It means someone will become your main ATS "parent" and you can ask questions directly to that person. Usually it's someone who has been here a long time and can guide you around as needed.
