Well they see a black Pres for 8 years and reality slips for them a bit.

And really no group no race minority is ever going to rise without the majority being involved. the other races in this country owe whites a great deal. Its not a one way street about how much whites owe.

It just proves that we do live in a time, probably more than ever, that resembles the movie Idiocracy, or the like.

Each political side thinks the other is the driving force of this reality, and the truth is that a good number of people from both sides are idiots and push their ignorant ideas onto to others without knowing the consequences.

Can both sides AT LEAST agree to that?

Lets be clear, politics is dirty, its corrupt, and running a country - no matter who is at the helm - is freaking impossible!

Haters everywhere, and the hate gets stronger the more successful the person they're hating on becomes.

I hate politics!

But to your point, Obama wouldnt have been elected and re-elected without whites voting for him. This brown lady in the OP is an asshat!

Fascist troll recipe 279:

- Find a single person associated with your enemy who says something vaguely controversial
- Demand everyone you identify with your enemy justify, denounce, or explain it away
- Insist your single sample is representative of the whole
- Insist there's a moral failure on the part of the whole if they can't keep everyone in their general political sphere in line and on message
- Pretend people like Richard Spencer aren't on your side of the fence

There, fixed it for you.

Its amazing. A week before the election these people were asking "where do Republicans go from here?" "The party is in shambles." "We may be seeing the end of the Republican party." "Donald Trump will not be POTUS."

Everything they said would happen to the Republicans is happening to the Democrats and its happening in spades..

I dont think there is a democrat party anymore. It's now a party of people that internally and externally vilify everyone except those they see in the mirror. I really think the mentally unbalanced are running the show on the left. Its a run away crazy train.

No one ever said any such thing, but an awful lot of White folks still think they have a monopoly on who and what is an American, and part of this vitriol is the realization that for the first time in a long time America will become a minority majority in the near future like within our lifetime, but the fact still remain that we are gonna need each other going fwd, in this many a white folks need to drop 1950ts thinking, yes I know I am putting this squarely on their shoulders, but in my view they are the ones continuing with the narrative, Black folks and others react to it.

This thread is amazing in its stark illumination of the various posters' subconscious personally unrecognized biases.
The woman in the video of the opening post says one ill-considered sentence and everyone immediately has a bias dump upon her in " ***** pile" fashion (yes, for those of you old and wizened enough to remember, that offensive " ***** pile" reference used to be commonplace in the 1950's to '70's in good old America, land of the color-tinted glasses). Today these reactions are just accepted as being enlightened political discourse. If she had not used that single offensively worded sentence, would you still attack and demean her for the remainder of her comments?

I think it's time black people take a step back from politics, especially the Democratic party...what with the shambolic way they've run things these past 8 years.

Obama, Holder, Lynch, Rice (Susan) divisive agitators like Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton, incompetent appeasers in positions of authority in large cities such as the Baltimore mayor (I think?)...especially, you know, seeing as how broad and discriminatory statements are the accepted norm among the far left these days, perhaps black people are the ones who need to take back seat for a while?

They've made a monumental pigs ear of it this past 8 years...after all.

I mean, don't worry about actual reality or context or annoying stuff like that.

Just peddle the anti white racism and everything will be ok.

Unfortunately that's what the democratic party has turned into. This idea that people "deserve positions in government or civic institutions simply because of the color of their skin" is wrong. Your skin color doesn't make you more, or less able to have a job, or to lead. It is the individual qualities of that person, irrespective of their skin color, what qualifies individuals on jobs or on their ability to lead others.

The democrat party started as the party of the kkk, and as the party that was in favor for slavery. Now it has gone a full 360 degrees and now the democrat party wants to exclude people who are white... The democrat party is once again about segregation based on skin color.

This is truth. So shhhhhh.

Its in part why Trump won the election.

Dont correct them. Dont tell them what they are doing wrong. Dont gloat, dont celebrate, dont help them in any way. Hell dont even motivate them.

Be a cold corpse to them, and victory will follow all our of endeavors.

They are off base, let them die out there.

Democrats are the party of SJW nutbags, race baiters, and crazy socialist. If they keep the same message they will cannibalize themselves. People don't like that, they want to get along with everyone and be successful.

Last time Blk folks didn't participate in politics many of them ended up as strange fruits swinging in southern breeze.
And really cities or communities like Ferguson where basically all the community leaders were white and the police force also was a hell hole , because the leaders were what?? ..white?? or were they corrupt
Contrast that with communities like DeSoto TX run by blacks.
And why am I leaving out the obvious , we had a financial melt down under leadership of mainly White men, should I racialize corruption and incompetence like you are attempting to do??.. the effect is still with us today, and it took a Blk man as much as he is a disappointment to me ,not let it slip further into Mad Max country.

I can't wait for the Democratic party to destroy itself. Maybe then it'll learn how to get it's act together, since it's facing an existential crisis in terms of political influence at the moment.

Maybe the Democrats will stop being so Racist once you elect a ****ing minority Republican.

What's disgusting is how wrong the stigma about the whole "Republican White Pride" thing is,

However you never will help your own cause electing old white men every-single-time.

A Republican women nominee would represent the GOP in a paradigm not seen before, and would have smashed Hillary just as easily with the Right's propaganda campaign. Republicans could elect a rock with the same amount of fanboyism, what's important is they're supporting a Republican. They picked Trump afterall. Why not try to make progressive decisions in the party scrutinized for bigotry is the only thing I can't fathom?

You understand how easy a strawman it would be for these racist arguments, if they had a Woman, or Black elect to point at like the Democrats? Even just 1? Seems odd they'll constantly avoid even a single nomination, but as a whole the party has 'real concerns' about how other races or people view them.

After the election and Democrats touting around such rubbish as "People only voted Trump because they are racist" It is rather stupid of them to dismiss a whole section of the membership for being the wrong colour.

Even someone who isn't racist would have doubts about supporting a party that devalues them because of their skin colour, wouldn't they? I mean, it's a bit of a slap in the face and you'd have to have a serious mental problem throwing in your lot with people who obviously despise you.

Will they ever get elected again?
I wonder just how much of the rise in the ALT-right could be laid at the feet of the prevailing attitudes of the left towards people who aren't POC, LGBT etc? Because it really does strike me that the message is "You aren't wanted" Much as it is from the British Labour Party.

Democrats have been pandering so much with identity politics and minorities that they basically lost the white working class.

And even after this defeat, they continue to obliterate themselves...good riddance

Unfortunately as you get into old age the brain matter deteriorates, Donald Sutherland the poor man, someone give that man a nice warm cup of tea, his favourite biscuits and sit him by the window so he can watch the birds!

On Wednesday’s “CNN Newsroom,” CNN Political Commentator and former National Press Secretary to Democratic presidential candidate Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) Symone Sanders argued, “we don’t need white people leading the Democratic Party right now. The Democratic Party is diverse, and it should be reflected as so in our leadership,” during a discussion on the possible DNC Chairmanship of former Vermont Governor Howard Dean (D).

Link.

Well, there you go. She talks about diversity, by insisting upon exclusion.

It isn't about ideas or leadership. It's about the color of your skin.

And they wonder why they lost the election? I particularly love how the white guy sitting next to her is nodding his head in agreement. I guess he's a Donald Sutherland fan.

Btw, didn't the democrats have a black president for the last eight years???? It's very confusing trying to keep up with leftist logic.

That's the thing, to those who practice identity politics, the identity of the person is paramount. To many of them, it is apparently more important to get people of color and women (tokenism) into power or a given position in any organization than to actually address the epistemic issues that cause the gap in representation. Instead of addressing the neo-liberal economic exploitation of the working and middle classes, they focus on affirmative action including up to the top positions. Instead of focusing on the education gap for the poor and unrepresented groups (African American, Native American, etc), which would without a doubt aid in their economic development and also representation in higher positions of authority, they focus on putting a veneer of token minorities into positions.

I find that many of these people are faux-liberals: (...) "Let's fight oppression, racism, and colonialism at home," but support Obama and Hillary in their neo-colonial escapades abroad. "Hillary Clinton is a "win" for feminism," even though she is a neo-con, corporate shill, and neo-liberal, which affect women and people of color both here in the US and abroad in war torn countries. Etc. This is why simply getting people in power based on their gender or race is not the correct approach. There are lots of corrupt, selfish, greedy, or just misguided people of color and women.

Many of us think that this contributed to the Democrats losing the election this time around.

There are those social justice people who don't practice tokenism, and actually strive to address the real foundational issues, but not all of them. So I'm not castigating the *real* practitioners of anti-poverty and social justice.
