Honestly, yours is one of the absolute best posts I've seen in a long while!!!

Oddly, my family has been here since Plymouth Rock (in the NE), but we are the same. The Civil War in this country was one of the most ugly and terrible of all, and people of color shined some of the brightest. They just did. So many people just don't see my true meaning and intent.

The difference between me and some 'others' is...I believe. I understand, and I believe.

I absolutely loathed Hillary, but she did say one thing right...we can be better together.

God Bless.

Thank you. Not a Hillary fan either. Civil war, I lost ancestors in both Northern and Southern POW camps. Only half of my family was here by then. People can't even imagine brother against brother, but it has happened here before, and I am worried it may happen again.

Ummmm.....does anyone even know what a "cutting horse" is even???

YES! Hey, are we talking about cutting now? Yay! I need to look back and see where the discussion went after the OP.
LOVE cutting (and cutting horses).

ETA- Never mind, just a dick measuring contest. (which is curious- I thought Redhorse was a woman??)

Oh, I listened alright. Perhaps I'm ADD, but what I heard was ..."not Hillary...we just can't have that". And, I can't even begin to describe how much I agree with that notion. I'm sorry, but I just do.

So, indeed, it might well have been the choice between the lesser of two evils, but the one evil was so far more evil than we can ever even imagine it is almost incomprehensible.

I'm sorry if you may not agree, but some of the things I could tell you would blow your socks off...from nearly 20 years ago even, half way across planet Earth.

(not pretty)

Yes, they are beautiful horses who 'work' for a living...not many know one, let alone have ridden one.

With all due respect, I don't recall asking who could 'pee' higher on the wall. I just let the guy show his ass for a while. Then I got tired of it.

And, if redhorse is a woman...then all the more curious from his/"her" statements earlier on this thread.

Personally, you have often been a voice of reason here, and yes, I did digress (but with reason in my humble opinion), but my position stands, and I believe my representations are accurate.

I was an instructor at Lowry AFB when I separated from the military, as a specialist in the repair and calibration of test equipment. I went to work selling computers, and soon was recruited by a group that wanted to write an application to monitor biological weapons. Our proposal for the application was not accepted, but learned far more than I ever wanted to know. Preparedness in the future will be to place my head between my legs and kiss my ass goodbye.

No.

I wish...but I washed out of the AF in '82. I had the grades, but I was too tall and had bad eyes (+/- 1/2 diopter left to right) I bailed out of ROTC at 2 years, I didn't want to work on the ground.

Chose a different path.

The wife is a barrel racer and she owns two beautiful animals. When they have a job they are gorgeous. Now I am trying to figure out why my 3 toy fox terriers are so cute, their only job is to eat and crap.

I was an enlisted guy, did 7 years active. Also AF. You and I can come at things from different angles, but find common ground, something that I find with a lot of other vets, reason I asked.

I didn't fly for the USAF, but I did fly. Unfortunately, I did it the hard way.

I flew for EG&G (and a couple airlines I'd rather forget).

There was always the "pilot's litmus test"....is the plane still flying? (when you checked all the gauges, horizon, altimeter, and then looked out the windows).

It was just a weird and unfortunate time. Not a lot of slots at my school (2). University of Utah.

The mindset is still the same. Evaluate, analyze and react.

Opposing opinions matter not; they are but an opinion of all of us, some right and some wrong.

I am always interested in both sides.

My first (very own) horse was a barrel racer...western united states champion (which was a curse actually).

He wasn't my horse to begin with, he was given to me by a lady who bought him from the Queen who took Frontier Days and went on to Calgary. That boy only knew barrels, he did it from a colt. That's ALL he knew. He was a big boy to, 17.5 hands, a palomino registered Quarter Horse. An absolutely BEAUTIFUL horse, but he was wild when it came to anything outside the corrals. The lady who gave him to me got him from this gal who was going away to college back east. We lived (and I grew up) in Wyoming. She got him as a "pet" I think, but became afraid of him. He had the hardest mouth of any horse I've ever known. Not even a square bit would slow him down, if he got his head out. His mouth was solid steel.

Horse's name was Reno, and he was legend. After we finally got him calmed enough to ride, I was the only guy who he'd let ride him. And, Jean gave him to me...just so long as I would feed him and haul hay for him. She still loved him and wanted to go wash him and spend time with him. Reno was a MONSTER! He was a BEAST.

This horse was so "programmed" it was unbelievable. There were trash cans on the corners of this corral where she had him. If anyone ever rode him, I'd tell them "be careful with this horse around anything that even remotely looks like a barrel". Well, most didn't listen. That damn horse would run around anything that had even the remotest resemblance to a barrel...even if there was a fence there. He'd get all cut up and usually throw the rider, and he was so powerful you couldn't stop him. He'd pay attention to me though, for some damn reason. Never understood that. Probably because I started out more afraid of him than anyone. Walk a fence? He'd run a rider right down the wire. Me, he'd behave.

Best horse I ever had. That dang horse would do anything for me. Sadly, he died young...liver failure at about 12.

Still miss Reno. But yeah, I love the cutting horses. Reno could cut cows with his ears (seriously); he'd just stand still and get this scowl on his face and start looking around with his ears (how horses do), and the cows would just get all scared and part. He knew the dominant animal, and that's right where he'd look...like a laser beam. If he stepped forward, even a step, the whole group would just part.

Absolutely the best horse a man could ever have!! I could tell a thousand stories about that horse up in the Wind River range of Wyoming. We had a lot of fun together.

Liberal Logic 101

58% of whites voted for Trump = racist.

95% of blacks voted for Obama = not racist.

No, liberal logic is that people are screaming about white supremacists because things like this happened with Trump:

(When asked about the support from David Duke)

Trump: I don't know what group you're talking about. You wouldn't want me to condemn a group that I know nothing about. ... If you would send me a list of the groups, I will do research on them and certainly I would disavow them if I thought there was something wrong.
Tapper: The Ku Klux Klan?
Trump: You may have groups in there that are totally fine and it would be very unfair. So give me a list of the groups and I'll let you know.
Tapper: I'm just talking about David Duke and the Ku Klux Klan here.
Trump: Honestly, I don't know David Duke.

Even though he did know David Duke and supposedly left the Reform Party in 2000 in part because of his participation in it.

And watch no one on here care, that doesn't already, just deny and pretend it doesn't exist.

That was a response to the OP - on why some people tend to consider Trump as a white supremecist. It is not because he is a white man- we've had lots of those. It was because he said things which indicated that.
That seems evident to me.
I wasn't challenging why people voted for him, only why someone can imagine he is being accused of racism only because he is a white man.

I have! A cutting trainer friend was nice enough to let me ride some - and it was awesome!
I didn't ride that well at that time- but all I had to do was hang on and keep out of their way...
Watching him take the bridle off a four year old and have him totally hooked on the calf was amazing!

But anyway, I didn't follow the whole exchange between you two- I don't know your view on Trump and all that, all I saw in the last couple of pages was some boasting about who is a better cowboy and who has the most horses, which sorta let me down because I was hoping we were going to off topic and talk about cutting....

I only ride once or twice a year at best, not a horse person, or rather I like them 800 at a time. I grew up around drag racing and both asphalt, and dirt stock cars. Built engines professionally for about 15 years, until I was injured on the job, and now am a part time computer jockey. The wife has ridden for 50 years and in her younger days worked on a horse ranch. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, may you have a wonderful day.

No because she's a Democrat that's how that always works. Look how the Democrats have attacked every black conservative ..... Specifically Herman Cain and Allen Wesr.

As a pretty middle of the road kind of guy, Herman Cain and Allen West are douche weasels. If you are going to hold them up as black conservatives, am pretty sure no one but other douche weasels will agree with you. Seems to me that Allen West was removed from command for cause, you need to find better heros. Oh yeah, Cain was accused of sexual harrasment.

I've let your (lilly, amateur, silly) ass hang out all day. You're a piece of work. So, how do you feel now? Are your proud of your responses today? Are you "awesome"?

So, now I'm interested in hearing YOUR story...so, please DO tell me, "SON"

(I think I have a few words for you when you finish).

We only run about 3-400 head of cattle on our "small" 2.5 section ranch (that's 1,650 acres to you). Indeed we are a "small" operation, by heavy hitter standards. However we raise some of the most wanted beef in the country...Angus and Galloway (primarily Galloway beef cattle).

So, tell me, "real deal" how many head are YOU running???? How big is YOUR spread???

Given your seeminly amateur responses today I'd have a hard time believing you could even work around large stock...."SON"!!

I've likely "forgotten" more about cowboyin' than you will ever learn, "SON"

How many horses do you have??? We have seven (7). How many do you have...RIGHT NOW (in the stable)..."SON"???

You wanna' talk about a "poser"; well it takes a BIG man to call another man a "liair"...so now...here's your chance "tex" to show me uip!

What'cha got..."SON"???? You're the "real deal"? Show me...just show me!!!

I'm calling YOU out!! Show me...."SON"!!!!!!

Here are your posts...

Redhorse posts

I rest my "F"ing case!!! LOOSER!!!

So, yes, I will take the last word...because YOU don't deserve it. You've worked for NOTHING.

We're different.

Later..."SON"

...all the best to you, "SON" (your words, not mine)

ETA...and I'm only getting started on your tired, amateur, backside, "SON". Anytime you want to come out and work cows out here just be my guest. We'll be loading up the rest of the steers (easy stuff) on Saturday, and the heifers will go out on Sunday (but the cow hands would beat your ass so bad on Saturday you wouldn't show up). Dude...you're a PUNK! I've seen a million like you, "SON"

You're an (interwebz) tough guy, a keyboard commando...just come on over to the ranch here, just ONE time...and we'll see who you really are!!

...and we WILL too!! (Everybody with the big challenges usually back down pretty quickly). Got a horse, boy? Got a cutting horse??? (we have three).

Or...are you just an Internet pussy??? BRING IT!!! "SON"!!!
