I believe that the President Elect has basically styled himself as Independent, while Republicans have realised that was their ticket in....the Independent vote. However independant of the system Drumpf may appraise himself, politicians gotta be politicizing.

Oh, and D.Rump, if you are listening....some of us find SNL funny enough to keep it on the air, get a sense of humor.

Democratic party is in ruins. Should have never pushed the ACA. It was a Trojan Horse. Nobody can fix healthcare. Poor people die. That is the way it has always been and always will be. If you can't afford something you can't have it and you can't force other people to pay for something you did not earn. Try to make others pay for it and they will revolt.

Wow look at all the stars you got, I really feel sorry that you live in a world where it is ok for people to die for lack of medical care. By most opinions that would make you a very small minded individual. Some things are only for the wealthy, Buggattis etc, but healthcare is a right of every human being. You need to try to look at the causes instead of the effects. I need my new gadget, so you really need to die, not a philosophy I would base my life on.

For profit healthcare is the downfall and will eventually ruin the United States.

This is just hysterics, which is typical of democrats these days. Everything is the end of the world!

Democrats will probably win big in 4 years. Thats just how politics in amerca work. I do wish theyd take that hysteria and aim toward eliminating some of the most disagreeabke parts of their party doctrine. Sjws. Attacking the 2nd amendment. And recently attacking the first amendment as well. Basically keep your hands off the bill of rights.

I don't believe democrats can find an untapped group of legal voters and the energy needed like the republicans found in our electorate back in 2010.
democrats are already at full tilt. Republicans in 09-12 pushed a large ideological battle of smaller government and against socialism with an intensity not seen in republicans in a long time.

I don't believe democrats can find an ideological battle cry that unites them. only identity politics and hate, not something that unites a party, especially a culturally diverse party like theirs.
The 3 branches(social cons/other cons, main street/moderates, libertarians) of the GOP did unite under a smaller government dont tread on me attitude.
Now with trumpism we may be able to add a 4th "working man" category

The only attack on the first I have seen has come from the President elect, being an independent, I see platforms on both sides as disagreeable, but Trump is the only one I have seen attack the first. Freedom of religion, out the door, freedom of speech out the door, etc.

GW Bush left the white house with his party in tatters. 8 years later, Obama does the same thing. Meanwhile, The People seem completely fed up. Fed up enough to vote for someone out of left field, but not fed up enough to abandoned the parties that rowed this boat up shiz creek.

Amen. A lot of US conservatives don't really understand what left versus right means.
Or that the party names shift back and forth through history.

If one were to ask me what I consider to be a fundamental conspiracy question at this time, it would exactly that. That a lot of US conservatives don't really understand the spectrum, the range of philosophies in between.
It's like having to learn a new language around here some times.

A couple of months ago I thought the Republicans might implode.

This election was more important than I gave it credit.

Looking at the NWO considerations for Trump's cabinet, I might start rootin' for the Dems to come on through. LOL

This reaction happens from one party or the other every time they lose an election. And instead of centering themselves and seeking out more pragmatic leaders they just go further over the edge and become more extremist & ideological. It's exactly how we've ended up with this succession of terrible presidents that we have.

no one has said that people should die fromm lack of medical care, but socialized medicine isn't the answer to that. get rid of frivolous medical lawsuits by slimy lawyers and lower the costs by having less regulation and that's how you get people Better coverage.

I think the dems should have really pushed that climate change thing harder.

The whole envirodoom about coal and cow farts.

If ya gonna derail the whole train, might as well tear up the tracks too and start again.

The lefty prog loons should be cut loose or the dems are really doomed as a party.

But now Trump has all the good parts covered, so getting back to legitimacy and honesty with the people is way uphill.

Yes and no... the republicans have such a massive level of control at all levels of goverment from the state legislature, governors, congress... and now the oval office.

The democrats are in grave danger of becoming irrelevent, they need to get back to speaking to all americans, rather than pandering to the big cities.

They are, but voters can erase all that very quickly.

You got to give him a chance.

You and I were the only people I know that knew he would win.

His picks are a little puzzling. Maybe he has a plan.

Or, we're screwed...We will see.

If they strategize to rid themselves of the extreme progressive movement that has caused Americans to go to the polls for Trump, and get to classical liberalism or libertarian, they would be formidable.

From what I've heard, the heads of the DNC are already talking about they're not extreme enough. They've learned the exact wrong lesson.

If they don't get their act together, they'll end up chasing away the labor union voters and the blacks, neither of whom have gotten anything more than lip service from the DNC for a long time. They'll form something akin to a Labor party, while the Democrats will be a Liberal party that only has any real appeal in the Northeast and the West Coast.

now that would be interesting.

we would see the various separatist movements in the US begin to really gain a foothold. Without "Cascadia", the rest of the US would be run by the agriculturalists again. Conservative values and whatnot. And we've seen how that plays out historically.

The Republicans, at least in the classic sense, did die. Trump is not a Republican, yet he is the one who won the ticket.

Pay no attention to the "R" next to the name--it's the actual candidate and his/her actions that matter.
