Now we have a U.S. Congressman, Tim Ryan D-OH (not to be confused with Speaker Paul Ryan) saying the Democrats better get it together or they will not exist !!

He cites facts from the election about how "people" want a turnaround.

Ryan is also bucking for the House Minority Leader position against current Leader Nancy Pelosi.

Democrats have been failing for a few years now, and they are hitting bottom on the national levels.

"People" are pissed off, and for good reasons.

Dem Rep Ryan: ‘The House Is Burning Down’ In Democratic Party, ‘We’re Going to Cease Being a National Party’

On Monday’s broadcast of the Fox Business Network’s “Mornings with Maria,” Representative Tim Ryan (D-OH), who is challenging House Minority Leader Representative Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), stated, “I’m pulling the fire alarm, because the house is burning down, and we better get our act together or we’re going to cease being a national party.”

Ryan said, “[T]he average American, the average working-class American, flipped their middle finger to the establishment, the Democratic establishment, the Republican establishment, Wall Street. They think that everybody’s more concerned with the donor class than they the working class.”

He added, “[W]e can’t keep going down the same road. … I’m pulling the fire alarm right now, is what I’m doing in the Democratic Party. I believe we’re in denial of what’s happened. I’m pulling the fire alarm, because the house is burning down, and we better get our act together or we’re going to cease being a national party. We’re going to be a regional party that fails to get into the majority, and fails to do things on behalf of those working class people that were the backbone of the Democratic Party for so long. we better get our stuff together.”

I wonder how a classical liberal democrat would do in 2020. Sounds remarkably independent!

Everyone thought the Republicans were dead after Obama was elected too.

Fortunes can rise and fall pretty quickly in American politics. If Trump doesn't deliver or the Democrats find a way to get their act together, they can turn it around just as quickly, and in eight years, we'll all be sitting around drinking heavily while they get ready to swear in some bright young socialist phenom.

If they strategize to rid themselves of the extreme progressive movement that has caused Americans to go to the polls for Trump, and get to classical liberalism or libertarian, they would be formidable.

I would personally like to see both dissolved, I'd like to retire someday too but well......

Would that make them a Republican?

I guess that would depend on what and who's definition we are following today.

Yeah and that's what the Republicans got told about the right too. Now look, the right is one of the strong men at the White House.

That is a good consideration.

We already saw how the primary voters shot down the traditional Republicans.

And we saw the high popularity of Bernie Sanders at the same time.

Combine all that and maybe some sense will come out of the next 4 years.

An "old time" Democrat with modern thinking might be the answer as long as it's not a crazy nut.

I am sure they will groom Michelle Obama and they will have her running in the next national elections, I am sure she will save the Democratic party.

PACs and big money out of politics along with Congressional term limits would surely see that. The way it is now is a sure bet to get a crazy nut in the WH.

That will depend on how much exposure Barack gets.

He has lots of old issues not yet fully "discussed".

Not to worry I'm sure the fake news sites like CNN, NBC, and ABC ect. will have us brain washed by then. Surely we can't stand against the constant barrage of truth for four years.

We can only hope that he is correct. Now if only Trump holds true to his image and continues to shun the Republican establishment. For those of us who are not Democrats, this 'writing' was on the wall a year ago when the Democrat Party played such hard ball against the rising tide of young people they embraced in days gone by. Bye Bye Democrats.

The Democratic party of old is not the party today. It has turned in to a socialist party and if you look at Bernie Sanders popularity that has support. Hitler's Nazi party were Democratic Socialist. That and what is going on in the streets should concern everyone about where they are headed.

It was the communist/socialist plan from way back to infiltrate the education system and influence young minds to turn to socialism. Not Capitalist Socialism, but the socialism of former communist countries. The thing about that is that now we know socialism and central planning doesn't work, unless you want to end up like Venezuela or what the soviet union used to be.

The Republican party is now where the Democratic party of old was.

Hitler's Nazi party were Democratic Socialist.

Do not confuse a name with a philosophy. The Nazis were not socialists.

Oh gawd I hope not. She already messed up school lunches... and how is that really possible?

I mean, my kid here, 6th grade, has all those "healthy" things like pizza rolls, pizza bagels, taco wraps, pre-packaged pastries, fructose laden fruit packs and juice bottles... and the school is "certified" compliant with the national guidelines.

Oh, and it's all they can carry away, too, if they're on the breakfast and lunch programs. If they're paying, they get one serving of entrée, side and beverage. Makes sense, I guess, since they have to toss out what doesn't get eaten.

Did I mention the school is certified compliant with guidelines?

Yes I have the problem of Europe having opposite names. The right is left and visa versa.
