It is precisely as Anaana and DISRAELI posted. The name Sin has been translated to Sino, which means Chinese. The original article makes this clear. The vast stretches made in this thread trying to say that the Akkadian moon god originated in China and was adopted through trade are quite absurd.

That said, the Levant region certainly was influenced heavily by surrounding cultures, exemplified by this scarab with ankhs found in the selfsame trove:

Agreed, and there has been long standing contacts between Nile Valley folks and the Levant even before a unified kingdom or outright colonization by them.
