Trumps daughter Ivanka sat in for a meeting with the Prime Minister of Japan.
Not entirely sure if this is something the head of his companies should be doing.
Is there a double standard in what is required of presidents before Trump,
that now Trump can do now with no call to heel and turn back?
From how I understand it by listening to the opinions of people far smarter
than me - this is a direct conflict of interest.
Ivanka holds no political title.
There is no reason for her and HER HUSBAND.
to be a part of any diplomatic conversations.

What say you ATS?
Is Trump ok for doing this?
Is this why Trump wanted her husband to have security clearance?

according to a photo of the impromptu Trump Tower summit released by the Japanese government.

I wonder if she talked or listened?

Im unsure of the context of the visit. However, I am positive that The secretary of State shouldnt be directing funds from foreign agents to her own charity and hiring associates of said donors in highly influential US offices.

If Ivanka was there as a pleasantry at some non diplomatic portion of the conversation, or perhaps knows Abe previously I don't see a problem. If biz was discussed under the auspices of the Presidency, then I would consider that a problem.

Multiple sources tell NBC News

Was any of this proven true?

We need to know.

It does strike me as rather unusual. The best line of defence might be that Trump is still, technically, a private citizen, and these meetings are not technically diplomatic.

We're not discussing the Clintons here.
She is not the president.

Trump is.

A diplomatic meeting took place.
Ivanka and her husband were there.
They hold no political titles.
You don't believe the Japanese PM just happened to be in the city and
decided to just grab a quick lunch for fun with the President-Elect of
the United States, right?

I can't recall a time when Jenna Bush or Chelsea or Malia were present
for diplomatic meetings and participated in them. I could be wrong
but I don't recall it happening.

He is no longer a private citizen.
For better (which I hope) or worse - he is our president.

Hes dragging someone along everywhere he goes.

Lets be honest, he really doesnt want to be President.

So hes ensuring that he always has someone with him who can do the actual work, handle the issue or assign it to someone who can.

The Clintons provided context, and still do to your OP.

The difference with the Bush, Obama and Trump children is age Id say. Ivanka is a highly polished adult, mother and businesswoman.

And those qualifications mean what?
That she's an honorary diplomatic liaison?
Or is she the head of his company/holdings/businesses?
You don't see a conflict of interest?

Probably just learning.
I do agree and think that this should be an out of pocket expense and she shouldn't be privy to any non outsider information.

And since this is the type of day i am having and my self restraint is in low mode.
Apparently the Japanese have an attraction for blond Western women i think there might have been a few tiny erections in the room.

I could see a conflict, or not based upon the context of the meeting. That really is the crux of the matter as it isnt provided in the OP.

Pure nepotism going on here.

In saying that, and yes its highly concerning, it is a informal meeting between the two, and Ivanka is actually pretty cool. Hell, they may have taken a liking to her and invited her to stay for awhile. We can only assume.

I would assume once things are more formal, she will not be anywhere near..or at least be given a official position if that's what is gonna happen.

Take daughter to work day is cute.

He will be your President from January the 20th. My suggestion was that he is still, technically, a private citizen until that date.

Prime Minister with our President - first diplomatic meeting...
What further context do you need?
Pence should be there - not Ivanka.
As Trump holds companies in Japan -
is adds to the complexity.

First unofficial visit to the president elect.
This is concerning though as nepotism is a issue, and more important, oligarchy if they are gonna bring up any business of Trump into the meeting.

It's a scary thought because it is exactly the reason he won.
People brought him in thinking he was against the system.
Trump is just proving more and more he is the system on crack.
The wall is now a fence.
No longer deporting.
No repealing Obamacare.
No longer going after Clinton for jail.
I'm not entirely sure anymore if Make America Great Again Trump is the
Trump that won.
