So, basically, every thread now is going to devolve into a left/right insult-fest?

I personally like to go geocaching, I get to explore, take hikes and use gps and clues to find the geocaches.

I have honestly never heard of that before, had to look it up. Thanks for teaching me something new!

Considering the left's reaction to the election results, you honestly think it wouldn't be any different if Hillary won?

I think there should be a "take a deep breath" campaign. The left is really going off the deep end.

There are still non-political forums on ATS.
Paranormal.
Sport.
Religion.
etc.

Oh I know, this was just a more light-hearted poking fun at how things are going right now.

Bickering stops people from actually talking and discussing issues.

Its a tactic both sides of the political divide use as a tool to sideline the masses.

After all, who needs facts and policies when you can just smear?

I look forward to when the dust settles and the quest for truth/knowledge begins again.

Fully agree with the OP. Unfortunately ATS has become nothing more than a pulpit to spread political crap.
At least there are some good nature programs on BBC Earth, and I can keep myself busy with my hobbies in my workshop.

And what's wrong with a good smear? In this country it gets you elected president

ATS has definitely changed into a non-community with defined factions essentially at war.

Forcibly changed, threatened by government to quell conspiracy talk, so many great members banned for no reason....and hordes of shill accounts created to spout pure insanity, yep that is what happened.

Any suggestions of non-screen staring activities I could fill my time with?

I recommend taking up drinking and shooting pool at your local pub. bonus points if they have live music now and then.

Well that sounds like a big pile of no fun.
I think I will step back for awhile and check out this whole outside world thing.

Any suggestions of non-screen staring activities I could fill my time with?
I get bored easy.

Much love, and

Might be a great idea to have every 'political' forum declared a 'Fake News Site'...and then BAN them.

It's not every post. Just most of them, and mostly from one side.

I almost want a super volcano to go off so ATS shifts focus.

Almost

What I find astonishing is that the most innocuous thread/post about making oatmeal can morph into a rabid political gloating **** fest by the 3rd post. Usually by the same familiar personalities; totally obsessed with their new found power.

Navel gazing seems to be popular these days and it fits your criteria (unless, of course, you have a digital navel.)
