The places people pass up as tourists because they get suckered into the tourist trap towns. This is Anna Maria Island on Florida's Gulf coast. This was one of our favorite places to day trip to with the kids, it's very laid back & gorgeous.

Sunshine Skyway Bridge across Tampa Bay, viewed from Anna Maria Island.

This one's huge, and I can't figure out how to embed smaller, so here's a link to it instead St Pete's pretty much behind the building, Tampa would be to the NE/right side.

We don't live in FL any more and I don't exactly miss it any, but I do find myself missing some specific places a little. AMI being one.

Gordi took the photos and I have to say Scotland is really amazing. You must love living there. Scotland is one place I would love to visit besides Egypt.

Scotland is very nice to see in both winter and summer, although we can have all wether at any given point of the day, no joke, many cities/towns like Glasgow, Edinburgh, Perth, Livingston, UpHall (UFO hotspot) and my old town, same with most i've mentioned, plus brilliant ancient cites to see all over the highlands also,,, also would love to go to Egypt, might go early next year if i can get a group of friends together...If not I'd love to go to see all the sites.

P's, if you ever decide to come to Scotland i'll happily show you round, same with any ATS members.

Gordi, your photos are beautiful. Thank you.

I have a question, what kind of animal is this below? It is so cute. Did it walk up to you?

Hi Jd,

That is a "Hielan' Coo"!!
or
Highland Cattle.

A Cow, native to Scotland.
Yes, they came right up to me (looking for food!!)
They are lovely beasties (especially the cute calves) but they aren't very common nowadays as they have been "replaced" with more productive breeds for modern farming.

Here's an unusual one for you Jd!

This photo of a Hielan' Coo in front of an ancient "Broch" or fortified tower in Glenelg Scotland, was taken by myself on a very early digital camera. It had a resolution of 800Kb (YES!! 800K!!!) and was shaped like a half-brick!
The low resolution, and the way the early digital camera handled the pixelation makes the photo look almost like a painting!!!
BUT I can assure you that it is indeed a very early digital camera image which I took by myself.
(We had just visited the Broch (Dun Troddan I think?) and were driving away when we passed the Hielan' Coo wandering down the middle of the road!!! I stopped the car because I thought that it would make an interesting image!)
Kindest regards,
Gordi

Thank you again for sharing. They are beautiful animals. In the US if we saw even a cow walking down the road people would freak out.

I want to go give it a haircut lol.
