My babies made more noise than adults for months.

Boom Supersonic has been releasing interesting pictures of construction of the XB-1. This is the forward fuselage section, from the cockpit to the pressure bulkhead behind the cockpit being bonded together.

The XB-1 successfully passed wing bend tests, showing it can withstand 100% of the expected load, under all conditions.

I found boom website that has some more info on the plane, pretty slick. It shows more photos of the front part of the plane.

boomsupersonic.com...

Also found a youtube video. It's short and just shows off a 3d model of the plane a little.

Their social media has been posting pics of the construction. It's pretty cool to follow.

It definitely looks cool.

Hopefully everything tests great and they can get to building something bigger.

A lot more carbon fibre than I would have expected in the skeleton..Most structural items in planes are CNC aluminium or rubber pressed sheet.

Composite prototype aircraft construction has evolved from flying surfboards to flying George W Bush-era F1 cars and IACC-class yachts.

Oh my what longs legs she has..i mean the undercarriage, not range.

3 engines, very thin wings, not much room for anything else but fuel and a pilot?

a reply to: Forensick

It's a demonstrator, there isn't supposed to be much beyond a pilot and fuel.
