This issue has been suffocated by the MSM
election agenda.
I have read a few things regarding this,
but I must say that I am rather ignorant and
uninformed.

I found these links:

www.nbcnews.com...

www.cnn.com...

Both potentially biased reporting.

Are there any members here who can share their viewpoints
on this matter with me?

A history lesson regarding this would be well received.

Thank You in advance, Wildmanimal

Just as the establishment hoped, and worked so hard for over the years....

I'm too tired from working,
too drunk from addiction,
and too apathetic to follow through...

but I, too, hope you find some answers.

Nah I jumped over the side a while ago.

It's fun down here but just a tad wet.

Seriously though, this is a big issue even this dumbass realizes that. I genuinely wish you luck from this side of the pond.

You can't beat the oily hand or can you?

I always thought the guy in your avatar was riding a pipeline anyways...

Just realised I got my exports wrong.

OK!

From the sources you provided, one is demonizing the protestors and painting a light of an unruly crowd breaking the law. The other has the Engineer Corps not wanting to touch the pipeline's last section without full and comprehensive discussions with the Sioux.

If this is the pipeline I'm thinking of then it would appear nobody wants it anywhere near them. So, it would appear that pissing off the native American was the last option... For once

But, how safe and foolproof can they guarantee the pipe will be, it's crossing under a lake after all. Is it possible to jack it up in the air 30 or so feet?

Full towns have been raised a few feet in the past but who wants a great big pipe going through the country... Clearly nobody wants the damn thing near them.

I'm not a geologist but I do know earthquakes can happen anywhere, albeit small ones. Still nothing is infestructable and nobody can say with 100% certainty that a rupture will not occur.

It's really early/late here and I can't be bothered to look up the location in any depth. I guess a good thing to check is the Sioux rights to the land and the potentiality of sacred burial grounds being desecrated. I'll do some digging tomorrow if I have time.

But other than that, for now. All I can offer is ludicrous ideas of sky high pipeline's or a lot of workers, buckets and very steady hands... No?

Heck If the oil is so precious and needed build some oil refineries there and ship the end product by road, rail and sea... Though I'd guess little profit will be in that, it's usually about the make-up.

From what I've seen the locals just want the protesters to leave. I also know that the oil is gonna get moved, by truck, train, or pipeline. Pipeline actually seems the safest of those routes.

It is not actually on indian property at all.

Most people assume it is thanks to the deceptive biased media.

One of the many facts anyway.

Thanks.
I am just wondering how much influence
the lobby interests have attempted to
sway this into an "eminent domain"
type of situation.

If so, has the tribe been offered
an insurance policy or other efforts
at compensation?

can negotiate a reasonable

Good thoughts there.
Mine were more mundane:
A safety shut off upstream (redundant)
with a diversionary containment
area(s) in the event of a spill would be a
good preventive measure as well.

Pricey, but possible.
The legal accounting team
may even be able to list these
additional expenses as a Tax Deduction.

There is no insurance of anything, which has been demonstrated by our government over and over. My understanding is that this pipeline, over the river in question, is going through a route that already has a pipeline. Modernizing technology is never bad.

Thank you.
Yes, modernization has its benefits.
As long as it is implemented correctly
and in a timely fashion.

We all know the results of half ass
implementation now don't we?

Give the devil his due,
and be done with it.

Thanks for your reply,
but I still feel quite oblivious
to this matter. So either you,
or someone else is going to have to
step up to the plate, and swing for real.
